Former 'Nsync star Jc Chasez has gone back to his pop roots to form a new group, Girl Radical.

Chasez shot to fame in the Bye Bye Bye boyband, and now he has drawn on his experiences in 'Nsync to launch his megagroup, which currently has 11 members.

The former America's Best Dance Crew judge was inspired by the Japanese band Akb48, which has between 48 and 60 in the line-up at any given time.

Chasez tells Billboard magazine, "We saw one of their music videos and I was blown away. It was like this army on stage performing, and I've always been attracted to the spectacle. I was like, 'We should build our own pop group, but in our own way.'"

Girl Radical's first single is a cover of No Doubt's 1995 hit Just A Girl.
