Rapper Nas Has Teamed Up With Bosses At Restaurant Chain Sweet Chick To Help Expand The Company's Presence Across The U.s.
The New York City eatery's second location opened last year (14) and executives are working with the One Mic hitmaker to secure funding, according to Billboard.com.
A statement from restaurant co-owner John Seymour reads: "As we continue to grow and develop the Sweet Chick brand, we want to align with partners and artists that understand what we represent.
"When conceptualizing Sweet Chick, we understood the history of chicken & waffles and wanted to have an amazing product while paying homage to its roots within the music community of NYC."
The company bosses' relationships with music artists including Slick Rick, Mobb Deep, Wu-Tang Clan's Raekwon and Joey Bada$$ made the partnership with Nas a natural move.
Seymour adds, "(It is a) dream come true (to have Nas on board). We can truly move forward with a New York state of mind and introduce Sweet Chick to a bigger audience..."
