The 41-year-old star addressed all of this year's nominees and their guests at the annual Oscars Nominees Lunchoen on Monday (Feb 2nd).
Although hosting the Oscars would be a daunting task for practically anyone, Neil Patrick Harris seemed very calm about his upcoming gig when he made a surprise appearance at the Oscars Nominees Luncheon at the Beverly Hilton on Monday (Feb 2nd).

During the annual event, in which all of the 2015 Academy Award nominees meet to have their "class picture" taken, the 'How I Met Your Mother' alumni revealed to the guests what is to be expected at the prestigious award ceremony.
"Some of you are good friends and some of you I just got a chance to meet for the first time but we are all going to be spending Oscar night together, where everything will be hilarious," he said.

Harris then took a hypnosis spiral out of his jacket pocket and pointed it at all this year's nominees in an attempt to hypnotise them. "Everything will be hilarious," he repeated. "Everything will be f-king hilarious!"
As well as describing how this hosting gig is "a dream come true," Harris also stated, "Thanks again for inviting me to the party today and the big dance on the 22nd. We're going to have a great deal of fun."
The 41-year-old star was named the Oscars host last October, and upon hearing the news he released the following statement: "It is truly an honor and a thrill to be asked to host this year's Academy Awards. I grew up watching the Oscars and was always in such awe of some of the greats who hosted the show. To be asked to follow in the footsteps of Johnny Carson, Billy Crystal, Ellen DeGeneres, and everyone else who had the great fortune of hosting is a bucket list dream come true."
Neil Patrick Harris will host 87the Academy Awards on Feb. 22, 2015.
