Recently it was leaked that 'Stranger Things' season 2 would indeed see the return of Millie Bobby Brown as Eleven, and now we have some more information about the new characters that we are set to meet when the new series arrives on Netflix next year.

Stranger Things'Stranger Things' returns with some new characters

In September we learned that at least three new characters would be arriving for the next season, one of those being a young woman named Roman. She has been described as 'an emotionally damaged, magnetic young woman who suffered a great loss as a child' and will be played by up-and-coming Danish actress Linnea Berthelsen. It's difficult to tell where Roman's character will fit into the story, given that she is not a resident of Hawkins, but she will have something to do with what's going on in the lab.

Ross and Matt Duffer also continue their eighties theme with some 'Goonies' nostalgia; Sean Astin from the 1985 movie will play Joyce and Hopper's old school friend Bob Newby, who manages the local RadioShack. Can't help but think he will be of some help to radio-loving kids Will, Mike, Dustin and Lucas.

Meanwhile, what better way to involve some of that James Cameron aesthetic than by introducing 'Aliens' star Paul Reiser as the Department of Energy's Dr. Owens. A possible villain out to destory every trace of the horrors of Season 1.

These new stars join the already announced Sadie Sink and Dacre Montgomery, who are set to play a dynamic young girl named Max and her older brother Billy respectively. Montgomery is also set to star as Red Ranger Jason Lee Scott in the new 'Power Rangers' film.

Unfortunately, no other information about the show has been released - indeed, it's unlikely we'll hear anything substantial about it because the Duffer brothers want to keep it top secret like season 1. However, we do know that they're already planning season 3, just in case they get renewed yet again (which they likely will).

'We are not gonna be caught off guard and we don't wanna be making stuff up like the day before we have to write it and make it', director Shawn Levy told Collider. 'So we are definitely optimistic and we have started thinking ahead.'
