Fact: A new TV adaptation of Lucy Maud Montgomery's 1908 book Anne of Green Gables is heading to Netflix. The eight episode drama, simply titled Anne, will focus on an orphaned young girl who is accidentally sent to live with an elderly woman and her ageing sibling. It will debut on the streaming service next year (17), with a two hour series premiere directed by Whale Rider's Niki Caro.

Fact: Actor Jon Bernthal has been cast as Marvel favourite The Punisher in hit Netflix series DAREDEVIL. The Fury star is joining the second season of the show as the popular comic book character, also known as Frank Castle, a martial arts master and U.S. military veteran who is an expert with a variety of weapons.
