Five More One-Hit Wonders Of The Noughties

Sandi Thom The Automatic Eamon Daniel Powter Estelle Afroman

Noughties one-hit wonder Sandi Thom recently got her name into the headlines for the first time in nearly a decade last week.

Sadly, it was not for reasons she would have wanted, as her tearful, expletive-strewn rant on Facebook went viral as she attacked radio playlisters for rejecting her new single ‘Earthquake’. Thom, now 35, had a chart-topping single back in 2006 with ‘I Wish I Was A Punk Rocker (With Flowers In My Hair)’, but has struggled to have anywhere near the same success since.

Is 'Paper Doll' John Mayer's Response To Taylor Swift's 'Dear John'?

John Mayer Taylor Swift Eamon

John Mayer has a new song out, one that the singer has seemingly written in a fit of inspiration after listening to a song by one of his exes; Taylor Swift. Mayer's 'Paper Doll' features numerous references to Taylor Swift's single 'Dear John,' which was an attack on John basically for being a scumbag.

The track isn't just another slanging match between two former lovers a la Frankee and Eamon, but instead it seems to be more of a direct response to the song 'Dear John' itself. Mayer makes numerous references to dresses throughout the song, a clear response to Swift's description of herself as "the girl in the dress" in her song, with the rockstar nonsensically singing, "Here's a dress of gold and blue/Sure was fun being good to you," at the beginning of the song.

The chorus is the main giveaway that Mayer is trying to get all up in Taylor's grill, going for the jugular with the line, "You're like 22 girls in one/and none of them know what they're running from," checking Taylor's single about how good being 22 is when you're rich as well as making a reference to the 'Dear John' lyric "and regret how I ignored when they said 'Run as fast as you can.'"

Eamon Has Stated He Never Dated Frankee, Despite Her Angry Song

Eamon

R&B singer Eamon has fought back against his chart rival Frankee, by denying the fact that they used to date. The New York based rapper shot to fame with the release of his song, 'F**k It (I Don't Want You Back)', which serves as a bitter song about an ex-girlfriend. But the 19-year-old singer was surprised when he discovered Frankee had released a new track entitled 'F.U.R.B. (F U Right Back)', which is supposedly her response after their two month relationship.

According to Eamon: "There was big try-out and I actually know some of the girls who wanted to do the song, but I haven't met Frankee in my life. I think it's corny to death, but it's funny. I was not involved with 'F U Right Back' and Frankee is definitely not my girlfriend or ex-girlfriend." Eamon went on to state that he's not upset by the rumours, as he's all set to make a lot of money from the song.
