It feels longer than three years since Wild World, but I suppose that's just down to how good it was. It's no surprise then that we're super excited for Bastille's third album Doom Days which promises to be both euphoric and emotional, as indeed we've already seen from the title track and newest single Joy.

The Last Shadow Puppets - Everything you've Come to Expect
An 8 year wait marks a return for duo the Last Shadow Puppets offering Everything you've Come to Expect and my number one in the top 10 of 2016. Aviation is charming and seductive being described as psychedelic pop hooking the listening from the get go. Miracle Aligner, Everything you've Come to Expect and Bad Habits all have lyrics and roll of the tongue song titles with its smart production of James Ford with a simple yet effective sound.

Various Artists - [PIAS] Alternative Spirit Album Review

When you think of the words alternative spirit you think -upbeat, raucous indie-pop music and that's exactly what this new PIAS compilation album provides. The album consists of 39 tracks from artists such as Roisin Murphy, Basement Jaxx and Fleet Foxes.

[PIAS] Alternative Spirit - Album Review

Alt-J's Left 'Hand Free' is a fun opening track with its catchy hooks and upbeat melodies - a perfect intro that leads into The Black Keys track 'Tighten Up' which is one of the compilations many highlights. With a raw, blues sound it's everything you'd want (and expect) from a Black Keys track.

One of the more guitar heavy tracks comes courtesy of Bloc Party and their contribution '3x3'. Its hard-hitting vocal and frantic playing remind us just how good their album 'Four' (which the song was featured on) was.

Florida's Coastline Festival 2013 is set to arrive in less than two weeks, bringing with it a handful of the recent indie and rock sensations as well as great beer and great food.

The festival will hit the MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre in Tampa on November 9th 2013 before moving to the Cruzan Amphitheatre in West Palm on the 10th. It describes itself as a 'A Musiculinary Experience' - and that it certainly will be with an absolutely stellar line-up led by Massachusetts' Passion Pit, whose second album Gossamer was in the top five on the US Album Chart last year, and Irish collective Two Door Cinema Club who topped their Nation's charts with their sophomore release.

Jimmy Kimmel Tricks Coachella-Goers Into Gushing Over Fake Bands [Video]

Jimmy Kimmel Two Door Cinema Club

Ok, so there's plenty of serious music fans at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, though there's also those who have no idea who they're watching, where they are, or why they're there. You've seen them wandering around - they chose their festival outfit about 6 months ago. Anyway, Jimmy Kimmel skewered plenty of fake music fans at this year's festival by getting them to gush about bands that, err, don't actually exist. "Music fans in general love knowing about bands that no one else has ever heard of," Jimmy Kimmel said as he introduced a Coachella edition of his 'Lie Witness News.'

Sending his cameras into the maelstrom, Kimmel caught one guy saying of the completely fictitious Obesity Epidemic, "I just like their whole style. Their whole genre is great. They are very innovative, and they're new." Other fake bands included Get The.Out Of My Pool and our personal favourite The Chelsea Clintons. "I think they just give off that energy, like you can just tell they're doing it from a good place," said one reveller of the band.

The reporter was keen to push, Doctor Shlmo and the GI Clinic, which one gig-goer said she was "really excited to see them live.." and Shorty Jizzle and the Plumbercrucks were described as "unique for sure". Two Door Cinema Club were the only real band used in the segment, though one music 'fan' said he'd enjoyed their album 'DJ Cornmeal'. Doh!
