Beyoncé Knowles and her sister skipped their father's wedding.

The 'Run The World' singer, who has an 18-month-old daughter, Blue Ivy, with her husband Jay-Z, and her younger sister, Solange, did not witness Matthew Knowles tie the knot with former model, Gena Charmaine Avery, in Houston, Texas, last Sunday (30.06.13) because they had ''previous engagements''.

The 61-year-old manager told gossip website TMZ.com: ''Unfortunately, Beyoncé and Solange had previous engagements which made it impossible for them to attend.''

While Beyoncé recently kicked off the U.S. leg of her 'The Mrs. Carter Show' world tour, she did not have a concert on the day of her father's wedding and took to the stage in Las Vegas the night before.

It is not known why Solange, 27, was not present but she performed at Glastonbury on June 28.

Matthew split from their mother Tina Knowles in 2009 after it was revealed he had an affair and a baby boy, Nixon, with actress Alexsandra Wright.

The successful businessman, who managed his daughter during her rise to stardom as a teenager with Destiny's Child until 2011 and still oversees the careers of several gospel singers, previously admitted he found it ''incredibly painful'' to cut professional ties with Beyoncé.

The 'Love on Top' hitmaker later hinted that they had become estranged following their professional split and recently suggested they are still in the process of rebuilding their relationship.

She previously said: ''It took a while for me and my dad to have an understanding. When I turned 18 and started handling my business more, he went into shock. And we had our issues. I'd say 'No' to something, and he'd book it anyway. Then I'd have to do it because I'd look bad [if I didn't]. We would fight sometimes, and it took about two years, to when I was 20, for him to realise, 'Oh, she is an adult now, and if she doesn't wanna do something, I can't make her do it.'''

The 'Bow Down' singer also claimed she rarely got to make her own decisions while working with Matthew and said: ''Every time he pushed me, I got stronger.''

When asked if she got her dad back after relieving him as her manager, she responded: ''No, I had to sacrifice my relationship with dad. I had to let go.''
