While big things are going on at NBC, ABC has also announced a change to one show’s lineup. Dancing with the Star host Brooke Burke-Charvet will no longer be by Tom Bergeron's side. Burke-Charvet’s run will end as of March 17, when she will be replaced by Fox Sports reporter Erin Andrews.

Brooke Burke-Charvet
The network gave no reason behind their decision.

Burke-Charvet announced that she was getting cut in a shocked sounding tweet on Saturday. She later released a statement with more detail about the network’s decision. "I have enjoyed seven seasons co-hosting DWTS but understand the need for change considering the position of the show at this juncture," she said in a statement for E! "I've always been one to embrace change and looking forward to pursuing opportunities I previously wasn't able to entertain because of contractual obligations to the show. I've seen my fair share of shocking eliminations in the ballroom but this one takes the cake."

The reason for her firing has not been made public. Like her replacement, Burke-Charvet is a Dancing with the Stars alum herself. The host started her DwtS career as a contestant, winning season seven with her partner Derek Hough. Three seasons later, she replaced Samantha Harris as co-host.

According to E! the surprise announcement wasn’t just shocking for fans, it came as a surprise to the DwtS co-host as well. ABC apparently informed her Friday afternoon afternoon she wouldn't be returning. DwtS executive producer Conrad Green also released a statement, thanking Brooke for her “years of service.”

Is it really just a case of "out with the old, in with the new"?
