Dame Joan Collins is set to auction off some of her clothes, jewellery and art later this year.

The 82-year-old actress' expensive garments, beautiful career memorabilia and lavish accessories will go under the hammer at an auction house in Beverly Hills, California, on December 16, Julien's Auctions has announced.

A spokesman for the auction house told the New York Post's Page Six column: ''Highlights [of the auction] include outstanding couture dresses from the '60s, screen-worn costumes, designer fashions and accessories, career memorabilia, decorative art, furniture and personal items.''

Julien's Auctions was considering postponing the sale following the death of Joan's younger sister Jackie last weekend, but later agreed it should go ahead.

The 'Dynasty' star was left heartbroken last week after her ''best friend'' Jackie, 77, sadly passed away following a secret six-year battle with breast cancer.

Joan recently said of her sister: ''She was my best friend. I admire how she handled this. She was a wonderful, brave and a beautiful person and I love her.''

Jackie had kept her battle largely a secret from everyone, including Joan until two weeks ago. Instead, she had confided in her children, Tracy, 54, Tiffany, 48, and Rory, 46.
