Justin Young used to style himself on Elvis Presley when he was younger.

The Vaccines frontman idolised the late music legend so much so he is sure the 'Suspicious Minds' hitmaker came down from space as an example of the ''perfect human being'', though he also admits he couldn't understand the singer.

He said: ''The way Elvis sounded, looked and moved was like he'd been beamed down from space as a perfect human being. I just wanted to be him. I tried for a while, too.

''The first record I got was a bargain bin Elvis Presley record called 'The Legend Begins'. I remember 'Hound Dog' was near the end and you had to go through four versions of 'That's Alright Mama' to get to it.

''I felt bad for skipping through so I always had to wait. Then there was a 20-minute interview at the end, and I couldn't understand what he was saying.''

As well as adoring Elvis' style, the musician used to love The Beatles guitarist George Harrison's ''effortless'', yet impressive look.

He added to NME magazine: ''He was effortlessly cool. Everything he wore, he wore well - the old, 'It's not what you wear, but how you wear it' deal.

''It never looked like he was making an effort, but he constantly looked like a dude.''
