Presenters Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins may have already left ‘The Great British Bake Off’ ahead of its move to Channel 4 next year, but it looks as if at least one key figure from the show will stay on board as judge Paul Hollywood was spotted heading to a ‘secret meeting’ with the network this week.

According to pictures published by MailOnline on Wednesday (September 21st), the 50 year old turned up at Channel 4’s offices in central London in a blacked-out car, in which he waited until a chaperone arrived to escort him into the building via the back entrance.

These clandestine manoeuvres follow reports that he and Mary Berry are being heavily courted by the network, desperate to retain some thread of stability following Mel and Sue’s declaration that they would not be “going with the dough” in the immediate aftermath of the announcement of ‘Bake Off’s departure from the BBC earlier in September.

‘Bake Off’ is due to move to Channel 4 as of the end of the current series, with the network paying a reported £75 million to Love Productions, the producers of the hit baking show, for three series earlier this month.

A source had told The Sun earlier this week that Hollywood was undecided about whether to follow ‘Bake Off’ to its new home. “Paul’s definitely not made up his mind yet on what to do and is looking at what’s the best deal for him… Channel 4 are desperate to secure him and provide fans with some continuity from the original line-up.”

“They are offering them big money, more input into the show, the works. If Mary and Paul go it’s a complete disaster.”

As for Mel and Sue’s replacement, the Daily Star has recently reported that 2015’s ‘Bake Off’ winner Nadiya Hussain is in talks to be part of the presenting team.

“Nadiya is a natural choice to get involved in some way… She is hugely popular, gets great ratings, is a natural in front of the camera and knows the format and the pressures of being a contestant better than anyone.”
