Prada unveiled a stunning floral collection on the catwalk at Milan Fashion Week yesterday (20.09.12).
Italian designer Miuccia Prada unveiled her spring/summer 2013 collection, which features origami-folded satin tops and skinny satin skirts, in her home city and revealed the intention of her latest range was to make it ''more acceptable'' for women to wear designs they usually can't ''without being laughed at''.
As well as the fur coats boasting big red flowery designs, there was an array of black and floral outfits - such as mini dresses and blouses - on show on the runway, complemented with wedge sandals and silver sock boots.
Miuccia said: ''I wanted height, but for them also to be completely flat.''
The 63-year-old designer revealed the inspiration behind her collection was to create garments that depict an ''impossible'' combination of both women's ''tough'' nature as well and their ''poetic'' qualities.
She told WWD: ''Toughness and the poetic part. I tried to mix them together, because this is mainly what women have to deal with in reality. The clothes are the expression of this impossible dream.''
Sandwiched between Prada and dell'Acqua on the runway schedule was Max Mara and Emporio Armani, with the former showcasing their latest range of safari-style jumpsuits and shirts and the latter unveiling thigh-skimming short shorts, playsuits and oversized shirts.
Versace, Moschino and Etro are due to unveil their latest designs at Milan Fashion Week today (21.09.12).
