The Vamps' next album is ''a bit trippy, a bit 80s with some MGMT-style synths'', frontman Brad Simpson has revealed.

The pop band have been busy working on their second LP - the follow-up to debut 'Meet The Vamps' - and singer Brad insists they have been experimenting with new styles on some songs.

When asked about the progress of their album he told the Daily Star newspaper: ''It's still very band-y, but less folky than our debut.

''It's a bit trippy, a bit 80s, with some MGMT-style synths.''

Brad also revealed how he and his bandmates - Connor Ball,

Tristan Evans, James McVey - prepare for their live shows and says they like getting pumped up in their dressing room by blaring out tunes by metal group Slipknot.

When asked what the group listen to before going on stage, he answered: ''James Bay, Imagine Dragons, Slipknot ... It's all pretty extreme.''

The Vamps are about to kick off on their UK arena tour this Friday (14.04.15) at the Glasgow Hydro Arena and they end their run of concerts at the Birmingham LG Arena on May 8.
