Nick Cannon's children helped decorate their bedrooms.

The 'America's Got Talent' host recently moved into a mansion in New Jersey and has loved helping three-year-old Moroccan and Monroe - his twins with estranged wife Mariah Carey - choose a theme for their own spaces.

He said: ''They did it all, they did it all themselves. It was kind of cool watching them pick out all their stuff. My daughter's picking out all the princess stuff. My son's picking out all the car stuff. So it was fun!

''Those are really [my favourite rooms]. I had a lot of fun decorating them, and spending a lot of time in there. You get to do a boy's room and a girl's room, so we had a lot of fun with that.''

The 34-year-old star admits decorating and furnishing the rest of the property has been ''difficult'', so Nick called in some family help.

He told Us Weekly magazine: ''My mom's helping me out. I'm kind of allowing my mom [into the home] to give it a feminine touch. But it's mainly for the kids, so it's real fun.''

When they aren't with Nick, the twins live in a New York City town house with their famous mother and the presenter-and-rapper things its good they can ''experience both worlds'' with their two homes because they are in such different areas.

He said: ''I mean, it's another area for family. To be able to have a lawn and a lake in the back -- stuff like that. I grew up in the projects, so I didn't really get the opportunity to have any of that growing up. Even in the city. My kids kind of get to experience both worlds. They get Manhattan and a little bit of Jersey.''
