Nick Cannon proved that he and ex Mariah Carey are still on good terms, despite rumours that the TV presenter has infuriated the singer by deliberately dragging out divorce proceedings. Nonetheless, he posted a Father's Day snap of the pair with their children Monroe and Moroccan looking pretty happy indeed.

Last week, Nick Cannon launched a freestyle rap called 'Divorce Papers', describing the real situation between him and Mariah, his antipathy towards those suggesting there's any animosity between them and praising his children for their 'resilience'. He also denies that he's refusing to sign off the divorce papers officially.

Now he's proved that they are still tight with an adorable Father's Day photo on Instagram featuring Cannon, his mother, Carey and their 5-year-old twins Monroe and Moroccan. 'Leaving the Haters in the Wind! LOL They want us to be mad so bad! @MariahCarey but we happier than happy! #HappyFathersDay', he captioned the picture.

In a new interview with Genius, he opened up a little more about why he released the track. 'The media made up a lie that I was holding up the process saying I wouldn't sign the divorce papers', he said. 'Lawyers always think they control the clients and they cause most of the friction especially since my ex and I get along.'

He confesses that the most painful part of the split is having to leave his children. 'There is nothing more painful than parting with or having to drop your children off', he said. 'One day as my daughter was giving me a hug goodbye my eyes welled up and she looked at me and said, 'Daddy, why do you have tears in your eyes?' and I told her it was because I love her. She understood. She is a genius. She just hugged me harder and said I love you, too. Waterworks!'
