Nicki Minaj has dropped a brand new track via her Soundcloud page called 'Pills N Potions.' The Dr Luke-produced song sees the 'Starships' singer ditch her usual synth pop/aggressive rap blend for something much more melodic and sincere. The heartfelt slow-burner of a track is set to be the lead single from her upcoming album, The Pink Print, which is due out later this year.

Nicki Minaj Has Dropped A New Song, 'Pills N Potions.'

Rather than being a diss track, 'Pills N Potions' is a very personal tribute to still being in love with someone despite going through hard times, as well as learning to take the good with the bad. "Pills 'n potions, we're overdosin'/I'm angry but I still love you," she sings before rising into a chorus of echoey "I still love" repetitions.

Nicki's song, which was co-written by rapper and record producer Ester Dean, takes a subtler tone than the hook-driven beats of 'Monster' and 'Superbass.' "They could never make me hate you/Even though what you was doin' wasn't tasteful," she sings, then "Even though you out here looking so ungrateful/I'mma keep it movin' be classy and graceful."

The song's theme and composition are directly in line with promises from the singer/rapper, who had promised more personal music drawn from her more private emotions and experiences. "It's a true story," Minaj said of her new song, adding "The entire album is a true f***ing story. It's time."
