Nicolas Cage is "confident" fans will like 'Ghost Rider 2'.

The 46-year-old actor - who is currently filming the sequel to the 2007 movie in which he plays the titular character - believes cinemagoers will have their minds "messed with" in the film and hopes they enjoy it.

He said: "It means a lot to me. I have high hopes for it. I'm very confident that something special is going to come out of this experience. You can just feel it on the set.

"I don't want to give anything away, but I know that the Ghost Rider character will definitely mess with their minds.

"We've been coming up with a lot of interesting things to do in the abstract, to help support the supernatural aspect of the character. He is the most supernatural superhero of all, after all."

Discussing his recent success as Big Daddy in Matthew Vaughn's 'Kick-Ass' alongside Aaron Johnson and Chloe Moretz, Nicolas reveals he knew little about the comic book before he agreed to work on it.

He told Collider.com: "I wasn't that familiar with the comic book. I really just gave myself over to the experience in London, and I felt very fortunate with the results. I had a great cast to work with. Chloe was wonderful. So, it was one of those things that just happened, almost by accident."
