Nina Dobrev attempted to shed some light on the Affordable Care Act through her Instagram account recently, by shedding her clothes and baring all in the name of Obamacare. With only a cardboard sign that read "#getcovered" covering her modesty, the Vampire Diaries actress did her bit in helping Americans become more aware of the healthcare benefits awarded to them thanks to the new piece of legislation.

The 24-year-old Canadian used the topless shoot to highlight the new bill, which aims to introduce accessible and affordable health benefits to millions of Americans who may otherwise not have health insurance. Her hashtag-featuring photo was accompanied by the caption: "Im Canadian. We have healthcare for all. If you dont have insurance go to http://say.ly/cdi6TN2 and #GetCovered, Because w/o it, youre naked."

Dobrev is the latest star to promote the healthcare legislation, a development in American law that President Obama has been looking to introduce since the beginning of his premiership. The GOP has long crusaded for the current healthcare system, in which healthcare is only afforded to those who are able to pay for it, to remain intact and for the ACA to remain out of law. It's long-fought passing into law is one of the resons behind the current US governmental shutdown.

Among the other star who have joined the fight in support of Obamacare include Kerry Washington, Sarah Silverman, Kate Bosworth, Julianne Moore and snowboarding king Shaun White, each of whom have tweeted their support for the bill using the '#getcovered' slogan. Earlier this week, Jennifer Hudson also showed her support for the ACA by appearing in a Funny or Die sketch spoofing the political drama Scandal.
