English indie folk band Noah & the Whale's new single will be released on October 24th. Titled 'Waiting for My Chance to Come', it is the fourth single to be taken from their third studio album, 'Last Night on Earth', following 'Life Is Life'; 'Tonight's the Kind of Night' and the popular 'L.I.F.E.G.O.E.S.O.N.'
The video for Waiting for My Chance to Come sees the band on the banks of the river Thames, with the Millenium Dome in the background. They perform their cheery song in a variety of locations, including on a boat and in a warehouse.
Since the release of Last Night on Earth in March 2011, it has stayed in the UK Album Charts in the Top 40 for six months. Their second album, 'The First Days of Spring' was released in August 2009 and gained critical acclaim, compared to their debut album, 'Peaceful, the World Lays Me Down', which received mixed reviews from critics.
Noah & the Whale are: Charlie Fink (vocals, guitar, ukulele); Tom Hobden (fiddle/keys); Matt 'Urby Whale' Owens (bass guitar); Fred Abbott (guitar/keys) and Michael Petulla (drums). In previous years, they have worked with the folk singers Laura Marling and Emmy the Great and have performed at various festivals, including Glastonbury; Reading & Leeds and Bestival. The band will also headline the closing party of Ibiza Rocks 2011.
