Review of Split The Atom Album by Noisia

Noisia, is a Dutch Electronic music (Drum and bass) trio consisting of members Nik Roos, Martijn van Sonderen and Thijs de Vlieger from Groningen, The Netherlands. This trio certainly have been busy remixing well known artists and producing upcoming bands to much acclaim. They also get much praise from many lovers of this sound. Not wanting to be categorized they've released singles under different guises and have three record labels to showcase an array of material. Very busy guys!

Noisia Split The Atom Album

Listening to 'Split The Atom' I'd have to agree with everything already mentioned. Their sound (all drum and bass influenced) can't really be categorized as it's so experimental and original from track to track it doesn't stand as a typical d'n'b album. It's no surprise Nosia get so much praise as the music is very good.

The album launches with 'Machine Gun' which is the first single. It builds up to title single 'Split The Atom' a seriously heavy tune. The Foreign Beggars make an appearance on 'Soul Purge' and 'Shellshock' that for me is one of the best tunes on the album. There are lighter moments to bring it all down and dubstep inspired 2step too but mainly it's heavy! It makes for an album that has beefy sonic assaults, clever intelligent production and compelling deep soundscapes.

There's no denying Noisia are great producers and certainly making progressive music with the youthful aplomb of true fans inspired by d'n'b. It makes 'Split The Atom' undeniably original and serious. It creates a vibration of sounds that keeps you interested and aware of how far dance music has come. For real!
