Norman Reedus

When 'The Walking Dead' first hit the small screen, it quickly became must-watch television. Introducing a number of compelling characters, such as Andrew Lincoln's Rick Grimes, Melissa McBride's Carol Peletier and Norman Reedus' Daryl Dixon, the series allowed a group of people that would never usually come together to explore their relationships and work out how to survive in a world where the odds are truly stacked against them.

Set against the backdrop of a zombie apocalypse, the show is one that has seen the deaths of multiple leading characters. Nobody is safe in the world built on screen - even those who may still be alive in the original comic book series of the same name by Robert Kirkman. Showrunners have on a number of occasions, flipped the script on their viewers, surprising them with scenes and sequences unique to the series.

Norman Reedus Discusses Iconic Brawl In 'The Walking Dead'

Norman Reedus

This week's episode of 'The Walking Dead' saw some alliances really put to the test, and now would be the best time to turn away from this article if you're not somebody who's up-to-date on the series! With Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) hoping to end the war between Negan's forces (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and Rick Grimes' army (Andrew Lincoln) early, the latter had other ideas, putting morality before a swift end to the fight.

In trying to build the foundations of a new world, Daryl thought that the dynamite he and Rick found in a Saviors truck would be the best way to wipe out the rest of Negan's Saviors, but it would be a move that sacrificed many innocent lives in the process.

Norman Reedus Says Real Life Insecurities Fed Into His 'Walking Dead' Character Daryl

When 'The Walking Dead' debuted its seventh season, many were excited to see exactly how evil the latest Big Bad, Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) could really be. He didn't waste any time in showing his nasty side, wiping out two of the show's main characters with his barbed wire baseball bat Lucille, and quickly proving that he would be the greatest challenge Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and his fellow survivors would ever have to face.

Despite the major changes to the show, viewers didn't love everything that season 7 had to offer, and some of the episodes in the season were the least-viewed in 'The Walking Dead' history. Don't get us wrong, the show is still one of the most popular on television, but it would have been a little disappointing for everybody working on the show to see the numbers plummet like never before.

When 'The Walking Dead' season 7 made its debut last year, many of those watching weren't impressed by the direction the story seemed to be taking following the introduction of new big bad, Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan). Wiping out two of Rick Grimes' (Andrew Lincoln) fellow survivors, he instantly cemented himself as one of the biggest challenges those living in the apocalyptic world would face.

Norman Reedus

Whether you love or hate the direction 'The Walking Dead' is going in as of late, with the deaths of major characters and the introduction of one villainous character in particular, there's no denying the show's ability to draw the viewers in each and every season with unpredictable storytelling and compelling character development.

One of the most beloved characters in the show is Daryl Dixon; a guy who's gone from being quite a stone-hearted survivor of the zombie apocalypse, to somebody who now has a lot of love for those he runs alongside. In melting that icy persona, he's worked his way into the hearts of everybody watching, so to even think about his character dying in the future for some is a step too far.

The Walking Dead Season 5 Is So Disturbing, Lauren Cohen Thinks Stuff Might Get Cut

Andrew Lincoln Norman Reedus The Walking Dead

After four seasons of some pretty intense zombie action, The Walking Dead enters its fifth this October. And according to some of the stars of the show, The Walking Dead Season 5 opens with some NSFTV stuff.

Crime Comedy Capers In The New Trailer For Paul Walker's 'Hustlers' [Trailer + Pictures]

‘Hustlers’, known in the USA as ‘Pawn Shop Chronicles’, has a brand new trailer featuring the late Paul Walker. The film draws together three plotlines - including meth addicted white supremacists, a man looking for his kidnapped wife, and an Elvis impersonator - centred on one place: the pawn shop; the epicentre for the poor trying to catch a break, and the focus of many a ridiculous situation.

And ridiculous situations are ample in the short peek we get in this new trailer. Walker himself seems to have adopted a ‘trailer trash’ character, bemoaning his partner in crime for swapping their shotgun for money to buy fuel. Where did that shop take place? You guessed it. “Man, how the hell we gonna rob Stanley without a shotgun?” a dishevelled Walker asks. Matt Dillon, Elijah Wood, Brendan Fraser and Norman Reedus (of Walking Dead fame) also star.

The pawn shop is the last resort for most broke people; the place where the impoverished and the desperate sell off their most prized valuables in exchange for an obscenely disproportionate amount of money. In 'Hustlers', it's where three dramatic stories begin; first, a pair of newlyweds find themselves in the shop where, as fate would have it, the groom finds the ring of his first wife who has been missing for some time. While he decides to seek out her kidnapper, a pair of small time criminals are concocting a plan to rob their meth dealer - though their armed robbery plan is inhibited when one of them pawns his shotgun. Meanwhile, one serious-minded Elvis Presley impersonator wishes to pawn his alleged gold Elvis memorabilia as he moves into the town hoping to land a new job in a fairground.

For those of you that watched the season 4 finale of The Walking Dead on Sunday night (Sunday, March 30) will know that Rick will do almost anything to survive, and that includes biting a man’s neck off. And survival is a motif continued by the first poster for season 5, which features Rick crouching solemnly, holding a gun; the word “survive” emblazoned above him. You can view it right here on AMC's Walking Dead Facebook page.

The Walking Dead Season 4"Where did you get the watch!?" bellows Rick as he tries to get to the bottom of what's happening at Terminus

It brings us back full circle to the pilot episode and the first season in general, when ideas on the zombie apocalypse were first forming and the walkers seemed like a genuine threat, even attacking alone or in pairs. Nowadays, a single walker doesn’t represent much of a problem for our survivors, but Rick’s goals were simple: find his family, keep them alive. Survival was key.
