Olly Murs could be the next member of ‘The X-Factor’ team to leave before the new series, as part of a massive shake-up of the ITV talent show. Earlier this week Nick Grimshaw confirmed he would not be returning as a judge after just one series and Murs’ co-host Caroline Flack is also said to be out of a job.

Speaking to The Mirror, Murs admitted, “I don’t know if me and Caroline will be back.” While no official word has been given on Flack’s status with the show, rumours that the presenter has been fired have been circulating all week.

A show insider told the newspaper: “Simon Cowell likes Olly and doesn’t want him to go under a cloud so he’s being given the chance to walk before he’s pushed. Olly always said he would never present the show without Caroline.”

"They come as a package. He had a good time on the show and got on very well with everyone but realises his forte is music. Olly has been in discussions with his management about whether he wants to continue with the show because he’s started recording and writing for his new album.”

Commenting on the reports an X Factor spokesperson said: “No decisions have been taken about the new series of The X Factor.” The show shake-up comes after last year’s series suffered from disappointing ratings and a number of embarrassing blunders for the presenting duo.
