Olly Murs isn't ready to have children.

The 31-year-old singer - who recently split from girlfriend Francesca Thomas - does want to ''settle down'' eventually but doesn't want to put his career on hold for the sake of his personal life just yet.

He said: ''I want to have my own family in the future. I want to get married and settle down at some point.

''I don't think I'm going to get to that stage just yet.

''Most of the time I live every day as it happens - I don't try to think too far ahead.

''The only time I'll take a break from all this is when I have kids. And even then, it'll all depend on the timing.''

Olly isn't worried about leaving things until he's older as he never wanted to settle down in his twenties.

In his new book 'Olly Murs: On the Road', he said: ''I never wanted to be having kids when I was 20, 21 or 22. I wasn't that kind of guy. I wanted to be out and about having fun.

''I wanted to settle down when I was in my late twenties. Now I've got past that and I'm in my early thirties, so at some point it'll happen but not in the next couple of years, I've got too much going on.''
