One Direction and Five Seconds of Summer will contest for the 2014 MTV Europe Music Awards (EMA) Worldwide Act award.
The 'Little Things' hitmakers will represent Europe North for the global accolade, while the 'She Looks So Perfect' singers - who supported the British band on their 2013 'Take Me Home' tour - will contest for Australia and New Zealand.
The two acts are among a shortlist of 10 to be up for the prize, following seven weeks of voting across three stages via mtvema.com which saw the number of artists in consideration for the accolade narrowed down from 286.

They are joined by regional European representatives Revolverheld, Dawid Kwiatkowski and Alessandra Amoroso.
