One Direction have become the latest pop sensation to want to take over the summer box office and by the end of August the Brit boyband will be taking over cinema screens when the fly-on-the-wall movie One Direction: This Is Us comes out. Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson haven't done things by half with their foray into documentary filmaker either, enlisting Super Size Me mastermind Morgan Spurlock to direct.

One Direction Live
The 1D boys are heading to the big screen

The boys open up their lives to their adoring fans in the movie and show us that they are really just five normal lads whose lives changed beyond all reason in just a few short years. Spurlock takes his camera back to the each of the band-member's humble origins and see the world through their eyes, their mother's eye and through the eyes of the fans as well as going behind the scenes on tour and in the lads personal time.

From the trailer it looks as though the band have built a brotherly bond and we see that their relationship is based on more than just work. Oh yeah, Simon Cowell is in it too. And Cowell is producing along with Spurlock, Adam Milano and Ben Winston, following the same kind of formula used in Justin Bieber: Never Say Never in 2011 and 2012's Katy Perry: Part of Me.

One Direction: This Is Us will hit cinemas on August 30 in the USA and a day earlier in the UK.
