Momma O’s been whipping Li-Lo’s butt in to shape after her recent shenanigans filming her self-titled reality show on OWN, “Lindsay”. Oprah had been informed by the film crew working on the reality show, which is aired on Oprah’s TV network, that Lindsay had been difficult to work with as well as not keeping to schedule. Documentary crew claimed they have been ‘held hostage’ by the Mean Girls actress, who caused ‘chaos’ and was constantly ‘screwing around’.

Oprah’s reaction to the (quite frankly unsurprising) news? How can we put this mildly...she was pretty pissed. Oprah flew out to Lindsay’s home in New York and gave Lohan a piece of her mind. Telling Lohan to ‘cut the bulls***’, Winfrey added she would not allow her to ‘f*** up’. "Who can do any work if the person does not show up?" asked Winfrey, who also explained, "My thing is, this is exactly what everyone said was going to happen, and I believed differently."

Oprah Winfrey is selling Harpo Studios in Chicago, the home of The Oprah Winfrey Show from 1990 to 2011. Though the studio will remain on the property for another two years, Winfrey has agreed to sell to a developer for around $32 million, according to Crain's Chicago Business.

"We have entered into a purchasing agreement with Sterling Bay for the four-building Harpo Studios campus in Chicago's West Loop," Harpo told Crain's in a statement. "We expect the transaction to be closed in 30 days. The property will be leased back to Harpo for two years and the studio will continue to produce programming for OWN."

It’s a very, very strange situation when a show that’s meant to depict a celebrity’s journey to recovery gets judged on its entertainment value. Still, that is the way it goes in celebrityland, so how did Lindsay Lohan’s OWN pilot fare? Not too well, according to ratings. The Hollywood Reporter says that the pilot episode of Lindsay only drew in about 892,000 viewers. Even so, at 10PM on a Sunday, that’s a small improvement on recent ratings for the same time slot.

Oprah is helping Lohan restart her career in exchange for a ratings boost for OWN.

In addition, Lindsay seemed to help the network towards its goal of attracting a younger demo to OWN. The show was popular with women aged 18-34, with whom the premiere's .53 rating was up 231 percent from the year prior. In addition, the total number of viewers marked the highest draw in six weeks for OWN. Not bad for a pilot, which has been labeled bland and mostly uneventful by critics. The show’s ratings can’t compare to those of Oprah’s interview with Lohan last year, but Lindsay definitely has development potential.

Lindsay Lohan’s new reality show premiered on Oprah over the weekend and the star, who has become the poster child for child star go bad, managed to shock everyone again. By not being that shocking at all.

Lohan is back on the straight and narrow... in the first episode, at least.

Sure, the first episode shows Lohan struggling to toe the line – by the end of it, she’s having obvious trouble following the restrictions set by Oprah. Her troubles with substance abuse and numerous DUIs aren’t directly addressed, but are alluded to, when the actress tries to rent a place in New York. One of the final scenes Sunday showed an exasperated Lohan reprimanding her real estate broker because she's required to get renter's liability insurance before she can move into her new apartment.

Oprah Winfrey – the woman, the legend, the empire – has turned 60. She isn’t making a fuss about it either. The creator of the OWN network had previously been announced to have a huge blowout party, “but the guest list was getting out of control, so she decided to cancel,” reports a source for E!News.

Winfrey opted for a low-key celebration, instead of the originally planned blowout.

Don’t worry, though, Oprah is still getting a present, says best fried Gayle King: "It's not like Oprah needs anything, but she loves all things, books…and she's a fan of cashmere. She has everything, but I don't care who you are, everybody likes a present."

Oprah Winfrey may have saved a lot of families and taken care of a lot of people over the past 30 years she's been on television, but kids have always been out of the question.

The world's most famous talk-show host has admitted that her immensely busy high-flying career has meant that bringing up children would've been almost impossible. The 59-year-old has been in a relationship with businessman Stedman Graham since 1986 and, although the pair were engaged at one point, they never made it down the aisle; getting round to starting a family, thus, was never on the cards.

'If I had kids, my kids would hate me', she admitted to The Hollywood Reporter. 'They would have ended up on the equivalent of the Oprah show talking about me; because something [in my life] would have had to suffer and it would've probably been them.' As a teenager, she was too busy thinking about making a difference in the world and helping people en masse to worry about where she was going to find time to settle down - unlike her long time best friend Gayle King.

They had to do it. There couldn’t have been a better opportunity for SNL to address the diversity issue than a guest appearance by Kerry Washington. SNL fans were eager to see how the show would tackle its obvious lack of black comediennes with a prominent diversity advocate (not to mention an exceptional actress) like Washington on board. They were not disappointed.

Washington had to play both the First Lady, Oprah and a whole host of other celebrities.

So you know how people have been complaining that the lack of a black comedienne severely limits the cast’s topical sketches? The two main examples were Oprah and Michelle Obama – with noone to impersonate them, SNL has missed some golden opportunities over the past six years (the last time Michelle Obama was featured in a skit, she was played by Maya Rudolph in 2007). Not last night though, because Washington was on a mission to perform all the sketches! All the sketches that SNL hasn’t done due to casting limitations. The writers didn’t waste any time and the Scandal actress came out as the first lady at the very beginning of the episode causing President Obama (Jay Pharoah) to remark, "I feel like it's been years since I've seen you!" See what they did there?

Oprah Winfrey is known for her generosity and warm spirit, but when it comes to affordable healthcare for the United State's most needy citizen, it turns out she is as cold hearted as a Republican congressman. At least, that's how it appears on the surface, however the Queen of daytime chat may have another reason for not supporting ObamaCare after all.

Oprah was approached by President Obama to become one of the celebrity spokespersons for ObamaCare, but apparently told the President that she wanted nothing to do with the progressive piece of legislation. A known supporter of President Barrack Obama, Oprah campaigned around the clock during his 2008 election, but it seems that over the years her opinions on the most powerful man on the planet have changed somewhat.

As initially reported by the New York Post, Oprah spurned the chance to join the many celebrities already supporting the Affordable Care Act; a piece of legislation that aims on providing healthcare for the country's most vulnerable and financially challenged citizens. Already, the inclusive bill has gained celebrity backing from Nina Dobrev, Jennifer Hudson and a host of other well-known names, but Oprah wanted nothing to do with the campaign.

'The Oprah Winfrey Collection' will go on sale at the Santa Barbara Polo and Racquet Club - so it isn't exactly your conventional yard sale - on 2 Novemeber, with all procedes going towards the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy Foundation College Fund. And just as a disclaimer, Oprah probably won't be 'hosting' the auction. She probably won't even be there on the day.

The full list of belongings once used by Oprah is available on the Kiminski auction house website, which goes on to explain that the many personal artefacts come from Oprah's many homes in Indiana, Hawaii, Chicago and Santa Barbara. The lot includes a treasure trove of portraits of the star, furniture, a painting of Harriet Tubman and a whole heap more.

Lee Daniels' The Butler has retained its position at No.1 in the US Weekend Box Office for the second week. The movie is an historical epic which follows the true story of Cecil Gaines (Forest Whitaker), a black butler who served at the White House through the offices of eight presidents. Whitaker is supported by a cast of award winning actors including Oprah Winfrey, Alan Rickman, Josh Cusack and Robin Williams.

This weekend Lee Daniels' The Butler may not have been, financially, as successful as last weekend. It made over $17 million this week as opposed to the $25 million it earned in its opening weekend. Meanwhile We're the Millers, starring Jennifer Aniston and Jason Sudeikis, made $13 million down from $17 million last weekend. The comedy made a similar amount to The Butler in its opening weekend ($26 million) yet has continued, by comparison, to be more financially profitable.

Lindsay Lohan says that she has finished with her partying days for good, telling Oprah Winfrey that her latest stay in prison and then rehab have knocked the remaining urges to take drugs and drink herself into a stupor out of her. She was speaking with Oprah during an exclusive interview on the OWN network on Sunday (18 August) night, during which time she admitted that she's fed up with her past life and thinks it is now time to grow up and act more responsible.

"I think it was just to find some peace and just have no choice but to just sit and be,” the former child actress told Oprah, in reference to her 2007 stay in jail. She also admitted that as well as wanting to go to prison to remove herself from any toxic environments in her life, the singer was also keen to commit herself to rehab and reckons that her recent 90-day stay in rehab has knocked the last few remaining drops out of her party lifestyle. She claimed that her court-ordered stay in the California rehabilitation centre worked as intended and now she feel ready to begin the next, drug-free chapter of her life.

Ben Affleck paid Lindsay Lohan a visit whilst she was in rehab. He advised her on how to remain sober after she leaves the facility. Affleck, who has also been in alcohol rehab, advised the 27-year-old actress on how to turn her career around.

Lohan and Affleck, according to TMZ, sat down in a meeting somewhere away from the Malibu Cliffside Rehab facility. Affleck advised Lohan on how to remain sober once she left the facility. He also promised that the entertainment community are considerably more supportive of those leaving rehab than one would expect.

The 59 year-old, who is the world's only African-American billionaire, told Entertainment Weekly, via Sky News, how she was in Switzerland to attend the wedding of soul diva Tina Turner and decided to do a little shopping. The media mogul entered an exclusive boutique and was told, even after repeated requests, that a £24,477 ($38,000) was "too expensive" for her and was offered other, cheaper handbags.

Oprah Winfrey seems to have been the victim of racism whilst visiting Switzerland. The claim follows an incident in which a shop assistant refused to show Winfrey a bag, saying it was "too expensive".

Winfrey was in Switzerland attending Tina Turner's wedding when the incident occurred in late July. Whilst shopping in Zurich, Winfrey told Entertainment Tonight: "I go into a store and say to the woman, "'excuse me, may I see that bag over your head?' and she says to me 'no, it's too expensive.'" Winfrey proceeded to ask again to see the bag but the sales assistant responded "no, no, no, you don't want to see that one, you want to see this one, because that one will cost too much and you will not be able to afford that."

The owner of luxury store in Zurich has denied refusing to sell Oprah Winfrey a designer bag on account of her race.

In two U.S interviews this week, Winfrey - one of the richest women on the planet - said she was discouraged from viewing a Tom Ford crocodile handbag because the shop assistant said it was "too expensive" for her.

Winfrey was in Zurich for the wedding of Tina Turner when she took a trip to luxury store Trois Pommes, asking to see Tom Ford's classic 'Jennifer' bag - named at Jennifer Aniston - with a view to buying it for 35,000 Swiss francs ($24k).

On Tuesday's (6 August) Good Morning America, Winfrey shared the reasoning behind her advice, she said "I just came from Europe, and Europe is the place to go when you want to feel really good and relax."

Last year saw Django Unchained and Lincoln prove popular, and this year will see more films of that ilk, including Lee Daniels' The Butler, which enjoyed its premiere last night (Monday, Aug 5) in New York.

The film follows Cecil Gaines (Forest Whitaker) – an African-American White House butler who, due to his close proximity, was privy to many of the political events that helped shaped contemporary America. The film is based on the real-life account of Eugene Allen.

'The Butler' looks set to be one of the most memorable movies of the year with an all-star cast that glittered on the red carpet at the New York premiere  last night (August 5th 2013).

Sparkling the brightest was Oprah Winfrey in a pretty pink sequined gown with her hair in full afro form, alongside her onscreen husband Forest Whitaker who plays the title role, and her real partner Stedman Graham. Nursing a dislocated shoulder in a funky studded sling was Mariah Carey, who has not been letting her injury get in the way of anything she does at the moment as this wasn't the first time she has stepped out in a quirky bling sling. Some of the presidents from the movie also showed up, including Liev Schreiber who played Lyndon B. Johnson and James Marsden who was John F. Kennedy, as well as First Ladies Minka Kelly as Jackie Kennedy and Jane Fonda as Nancy Reagan.

Lindsay Lohan has taken advice from Oprah Winfrey following her interview with the talk-show host. Lohan had planned a three week vacation to Europe, her flight from New York was due to take off tonight, as a reward for her successful 90-day rehab stay.

However, Winfrey has convinced the 27-year-old actress to stay in the US in case she relapses, according to sources speaking to TMZ. Winfrey contacted Lohan, via telephone, on numerous occasions over the last 24 hours. The 59-year-old talk show host convince Lohan by arguing, instead of heading odd on a hedonistic holiday, she needs to focus on maintaining her sobriety.

Oprah Winfrey is an expert in conflict resolution – and she’ll need every last bit of those skills to win back former co-star Rae Dawn Chong. The actress starred with Oprah in The Color Purple and apparently, everything was fine while the two were working together. But once she moved on to Commando, O’s attitude apparently changed and so did Rae Dawn Chong. The actress has been hanging on to so much resentment that she let it all go in one massive rant… and it certainly wasn’t pretty. Chong claimed that Oprah was a self-centered fat "biotch" who would have been a "field n**ger" back in the slave days.”

The Forbes billionaire was slammed by a former colleague.

Chong, who is black herself, unleashed the torrent of anger on "Matty P's Radio Happy Hour" – and she didn’t stop at the slur either. She explained: "I starred in Commando. And she just wasn’t having me. She’s competitive. She didn’t like me. She just wasn’t having me."

Rae Dawn Chong has launched a blistering attack on her 'Color Purple' co-star Oprah Winfrey, unloading on the Queen of daytime television in an audio recording from her appearance on Matty P's Radio Happy Hour. The audio - up at TMZ.com - is an eye-opening insight into Chong's feelings on her former colleague.

Rae Dawn starts out by saying Oprah was "lovely" to be around on the set of Purple in 1985, though became "a total biotch" by the time she had moved onto her next movie, Commando.

"I starred in Commando. And she just wasn't having me. She's competitive. She didn't like me. She just wasn't having me," said Chong.

Tina Turner has married German record producer Erwin Bach in an exclusive ceremony on the shores of the beautiful Lake Zurich near their Kusnacht home. The pair have been dating since the eighties, with Turner publicly stating they'd never get married after her first marriage to Ike Turner turned out to be a toughie. Back when their engagement was announced earlier this year the media exploded with whoops of "toyboy!" and "cougar!" but it seems that their age difference - 16 years - has had no negative impact upon the happiness of their relationship.

In 2006, Turner dispelled any notion that she and Bach would ever exchange vows during an interview with Oprah Winfrey (as reported by The Daily Mail), voicing her concerns over the implications of a marriage: "People often ask me why don't I marry. Tina Turner married Erwin Bach at a civil ceremony in their Swiss town. The couple have been together since 1986 after they met at a record-label party in London in the previous year.

Forbes have just released their 100 Most Influential Entertainers list and Oprah has made a comeback as No. 1. True, it might not be a real comeback, considering that she only dropped to No. 2 in the past two years, but this is Oprah Winfrey we’re talking about – the woman never does anything halfway, comebacks included. According to Forbes, Winfrey has had an $88 million drop in earnings between June of last year and June 2013. However, the chart makes it clear that other factors, besides earnings are also taken into consideration when creating the list.

This year Winfrey returnes to her rightful place. 

And while it is unknown exactly what those factors are – marketability, social media presence and entrepreneurial decisions are thought to be among them – Winfrey’s handling of the nosedive her OWN network took in the last two years, as well as her management of the rest of her media empire, including O Magazine, a network on Sirius XM and shows by protégés like Dr Phil means that she once again fits the bill. Winfrey made $77 million last year, down significantly from $165 million for the same period last year. That’s still a lot of money though, even for the entertainment industry, and the media empress is set to increase said profits in the coming year, as her newly rebuilt OWN network is predicted to begin turning a profit by the end of 2013. This year, OWN has undergone a complete overhaul, cutting out unprofitable project and replacing them with original programming, created by Winfrey herself with the help of Tyler Perry – another Forbes 100 staple.

Oprah Winfrey is no stranger to a philanthropic deed or two, in fact, her $12m donation to Smithsonian brings her total donation to $13m – the highest single source for a donation the museum has ever received.

“I am so proud of African American history and its contributions to our nation as a whole,” Winfrey said in a statement, explaining the reasoning behind her huge donation. “I am deeply appreciative of those who paved the path for me and all who follow in their footsteps. By investing in this museum, I want to help ensure that we both honor and preserve our culture and history, so that the stories of who we are will live on for generations to come.” In 2004, Winfrey became the first black person to rank among the 50 most generous Americans, and by 2012, the talk show host-cum-media mogul had donated over $400m to educational causes. The recipient of the first Bob Hope Humanitarian Award also handed out over 400 scholarships to Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia. It’s not just charitable causes that benefit from her generosity, either; she took her whole staff on holiday in 2006 after to celebrate 20 years of being on TV.

“Every donation, whether $25 or a $10 million corporate donation, is important. But truly, there’s only one Oprah Winfrey,” said the museum’s founding director, Lonnie G. Bunch, lauding Oprah’s contribution. “In essence, she’s put her imprimatur on it. Part of getting a museum built is tied to visibility helping all people see how important it is. Oprah Winfrey is someone so many people in America admire, and I think this is an important moment to the museum."

Oprah Winfrey - the perennial philanthropist and media mogul - has handed out yet another significant wad of cash. This time the grateful recipient is the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture, who will have been overjoyed to get $12m.
“I am so proud of African American history and its contributions to our nation as a whole,” Winfrey said in a statement. “I am deeply appreciative of those who paved the path for me and all who follow in their footsteps. By investing in this museum, I want to help ensure that we both honor and preserve our culture and history, so that the stories of who we are will live on for generations to come.” Oprah Winfrey Network has been a member of the museum’s advisory council since 2004. “Every donation, whether $25 or a $10 million corporate donation, is important. But truly, there’s only one Oprah Winfrey,” says the museum’s founding director, Lonnie G. Bunch.
The organisation has benefited heavily from celebrity donations - $10 million donation from both the Gates Foundation and the Lilly Endowment. “For a woman like her to give the museum that kind of gift now, before it is open, is really a vote of confidence and encouragement,” said Maria Di Mento, a staff writer for the Chronicle of Philanthropy. The Museum of African American History and Culture, which hosts a gallery at the National Museum of American History, is scheduled to open in 2015.

The first trailer for 'Precious' director Lee Daniels' new movie The Butler starring Forest Whitaker has rolled out online. It has always been assumed that Harvey Weinstein believes the film is one of his better chances of tasting Oscars success this season and the trailer certainly appears to confirm that. It stars Whitaker as Eugene Allen, the man who served eight presidents as the White House's head butler. It's over-the-top, patriotic and, well, Oscar bait.

In the mould as The King's Speech and The Iron Lady, the historical biopic is set for release on October 18th - just in time to be wafted under the nose of the Academy. As well as Whitaker returning to a leading role, 'The Butler' boasts one of the more spectacular casts of the year, including Robin Williams (Dwight Eisenhower), John Cusack (Richard Nixon), James Marsden (JFK), Liev Schreiber (Lydon B. Johnson), Alan Rickman (Reagan), Cuba Gooding Jr (Carter Wilson). David Oyelowo (Loius Gaines) and Oprah Winfrey (Gloria Gaines) are among the supporting cast though this one appears to be set up for Whitaker.

Speaking to Indiewire last year, Daniels hinted that his movie might be a little too focused on awards, "I'm trying to keep it [The Butler] PG13 which is not easy for me. It's very un-Precious and un-Paperboy... I can't go into my bag of tricks on this one [...] I felt like I directed the film in handcuffs and a muzzle," he said.

Beyonce In Elie Saab At The Life Is But A Dream Premiere

Beyonce has had arguably the most hectic month of her entire career, though she looked in tip-top condition at the New York premiere of her HBO documentary 'Life Is But A Dream,' on Tuesday evening (February 12, 2013). The R&B superstar wore a shimmering, sheer embellished Elie Saab gown with floral applique. The dress was debuted by a runway model at Saab's Spring 2012 Haute Couture show, though it looked as though it had been designed for Beyonce at the premiere.

Earlier in the day, Bey sat down with Oprah Winfrey for an episode of 'Oprah's Next Chapter,' which airs at 8pm on February 16, 2013. The queen of daytime television told OMG! Insider: "Beyonce shows the power of vulnerability in a way we've never seen anyone do. She opened herself up. She let us see her vulnerable side. She became for us not just this mythical goddess. She became a real woman. She shocked me. I was in tears," adding, "She did an amazing job . People are going to be amazed. What's going to happen now is that people are going to feel a connection to her that they wouldn't have felt before, because she shows us how real she is." Sounds intense.
