Oprah Winfrey reportedly convinced Lindsay Lohan to cancel a trip to Europe this week, fearing the troubled actress would be too tempted to relapse.
Oprah Winfrey convinced Lindsay Lohan to cancel a trip to Europe fearing she'd relapse into her partying ways.
The troubled actress - who left rehab after 90 days of court-ordered treatment last week - reportedly planned the getaway while still recovering at the Cliffside Malibu centre in California, but has now axed the trip after receiving words of wisdom from the TV host.
'The Canyons' star was due to board a flight from New York City last night (05.08.13), however, she heeded Oprah's advice that the ''temptation to relapse would be too great'', according to TMZ.
The legendary talk show star is said to have called Lindsay several times over the past 24 hours telling her not to travel and to instead focus on her sobriety.
Oprah, 59, has taken a vested interest in the 27-year-old actress' well-being following her well-documented troubles.
Lindsay recently sat down with the star for her first TV interview following rehab, and after talking to her on camera, Oprah believes she is ready to move on with her life.
She told MTV: ''I just interviewed her, and I was deeply moved by her desire to move forward in her life at this time ... I really do believe that she's ready.''
Meanwhile, the 'Machete' actress has reportedly swapped Los Angeles for New York, feeling there is less temptation to fall into her old ways in the city, and is determined to stay clean.
A source said: ''Lindsay is doing so well, she's back in New York City and is trying to figure out where she is going to live and what she is going to do next.''
