J.J Abrams' Star Wars: The Force Awakens has been revealed as the most anticipated movie of 2015. Fandango's annual Host List is based on a survey of more than a thousand movie fans and shows that the latest film in the Star Wars empire is more anticipated than Joss Whedon's Avengers sequel Age of Ultron.

That movie, once again starring Robert Downey Jr, Scarlett Johansson et al, came second in the annual list, while the final movie in The Hunger Games franchise, Mockingjay - Part 2, came third. Somewhat surprisingly, Fifty Shades of Grey came in fourth position on the list, while Jurassic World, starring Chris Pratt, came fifth.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be released on December 18, 2015 and stars Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Lupita Nyong'o and Adam Driver, as well as original stars Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill. 

"It's been a decade since the last installment of the most beloved sci-fi fantasy franchise of all time, and kids of all ages are eagerly anticipating the revitalization of the series next December," said Fandango Chief Correspondent Dave Karger of the Star Wars anticipation.

Other results included Jennifer Lawrence topping the list of fan-favorite actresses, and Robert Downey Jr coming out on top in the actor's category. Fifty Shades of Grey star Jamie Dornan was No.1 in a list of the anticipated biggest male breakout movie star of 2015, while Daisy Ridley (Star Wars: The Force Awakens) topped the biggest female breakout list.

In a survey of the most anticipated family film of 2015, the Despicable Me spin-off Minions came out as No.1. Kenneth Branagh's Cinderella had to settle for second, while Pixar's Inside Out, the Peanuts movie and Pan completed the list.
