Ozzy Osbourne: Rock Music Can't Die While I'm Alive

Ozzy Osbourne Tony Iommi

Ozzy Osbourne insists rock music isn't dead because he's still alive.

The 68-year-old icon has rubbished suggestions that the genre is already dead - but has admitted to being surprised by some of the recent changes in the music industry.

Ozzy explained: ''I'm still alive. [But] I never thought in my lifetime I'd see the demise of records. I never use the computer. It's totally changed. A lot of people steal music now, so a lot of people can't afford to do it anymore.''

Ozzy Osbourne Reunites With Sharon For Painfully Awkward Press Conference

Ozzy Osbourne Sharon Osbourne

It was such a cringeworthy moment that it was almost painful for everyone involved, but Ozzy Osbourne and Sharon Osbourne were forced to put their game faces on and pretend all was well as they re-united briefly in a Hollywood press conference to announce Ozzfest Meets Knotfest yesterday (May 12th 2016).

Sharon and Ozzy OsbourneThings still looked tense between Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne

Unfortunately, Sharon is still acting as husband Ozzy's manager despite their very recent break-up, so she deserves a huge amount of respect for bravely attending the latest press announcement despite knowing that questions would be raised about their future together as a couple. Needless to say, it was as awkward as you could have imagined it would be.

Ozzy Re-Bourne: Is Prince Of Darkness Ozzy Osbourne Making Amends For The Alamo Incident?

Ozzy Osbourne

Ozzy Osbourne has changed since his early Black Sabbath days. He's all but done away with the alcohol and drugs of his band career and is very much a family man - and certainly refrains from urinating on historic effigies. Thus, the shock rocker has returned to San Antonio to (according to reports) publicly apologise for relieving himself at the Alamo 30 years ago.

Ozzy OsbourneOzzy Osbourne goes back to the Alamo

As he's previously stated, when one is heavily drunk, one does stupid things and the Prince of Darkness is no exception. In 1982, during what was one of the most substance-fuelled, messy rock tours in history, Osbourne - dressed in his wife Sharon Osbourne's dress because she had hidden his clothes - promptly emptied his bladder on the 60 foot cenotaph across the road from the Alamo; a memorial commemorating those who died during the Battle of the Alamo in Texas in the 1800s. He was subsequently arrested for public intoxication and given a lifelong ban from the city of San Antonio ahead of a planned show at the Hemisphere Arena.

Ozzy Osbourne has reflected upon one of the more bemusing incidents of last night's Grammy Awards. The 65 year-old rock star was tasked with introducing former Beatle Ringo Starr at the glitzy music event in Los Angeles. The Grammys organisers had made it simple for the Black Sabbath frontman: all he had to do was stand on stage with his bandmates and read from a teleprompter.

Ozzy, Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler headed to the stage for the introduction and the singer began to read the script. However, Ozzy soon lost pace and jumbled up his words to form an incoherent stream of babble, according to Fox News. Tony and Geezer burst into laughter at their band chum's ineptness but Twitter reactions soon took the shape of a collective eye-roll as exasperated Grammys viewers questioned the rocker's sobriety.

Reality television star Sharon Osbourne always knew that she would take her rocker husband Ozzy Osbourne back. Last April, the couple separated briefly when Ozzy began drinking and abusing prescription medication, Sharon admitted that she only made a stance in the first place to make a point and not appear to be "weak".

She explained her decision, saying: ''You put up this front because it's what you should do. You feel, 'This is what I should do. I can't be seen to be weak. I can't let somebody disrespect me this much so I have to come out with this.' But in my gut, I knew I'm not going anywhere, you know, but I have to give him a hard time because if I don't it's going to happen in two weeks again.'' The couple have three children together, Aimee, Kelly and Jack.

Black Sabbath Score Their First Ever US Number One Album And Another Could Be On Its Way

Black Sabbath Ozzy Osbourne Tony Iommi

Black Sabbath are back, well and truly too, with the Gods of metal scoring their first ever number one album on the US Billboard Chart, with their comeback album 13 shooting to the top of the charts after nearly 50 years of waiting. The album ended a forty plus year wait for band to return to the top of the UK Album charts when it took the top spot last week, but in scoring their first US number one the band have performed quite a remarkable feat.

Upon hearing the news, the active members of the group each issued a statement exclaiming their shock at the success of the album, with guitarist Tony Iommi stating, "The news is absolutely amazing--we couldn't have imagined this would happen. We have the greatest fans," whilst bassist Geezer Butler had this to say; "I'm absolutely stunned. Thank you all world wide for being the best, and most patient, fans ever."

Frontman Ozzy Osbourne was equally as overwhelmed with the success saying; "There have been so many amazing highlights in our long career. To finally have our first #1 album in the U.S. is another incredible milestone for Black Sabbath. Thank you to all of our fans for their support and loyalty."

Was The Daytime Emmys The Worst Live Show Ever?

Carrie Fisher Ozzy Osbourne

Live award shows are about meticulous planning, logistics and practice, but you can’t legislate for individual mistakes. Unfortunately, there were too many individual mistakes to count, culminating in a car crash of an award show, which, in turn, made for pretty funny viewing.

We had Carrie Fisher talking openly about drugs – a bit too openly for some of the audience, award givers reading telecast prompts like “Wrap it up!” instead of actually wrapping it up, and Robin Meade performing a song in an evening gown while barefoot because of an advert break that was too short. It was, all in all, YouTube fodder gold, and we loved it for that. “Hi, I’m Carrie, I’m an alcoholic. And a drug addict,” explained Fisher before announcing the winner of best animated series. “Our nominees take us into worlds we have never seen before,” she said. “Unless, like Ozzy and myself, you have taken acid. We have the same dealer, in which case this category doesn’t apply to you. Our nominees have not taken acid, at least not with me, which really is the only way to do it, as most of you know,” she said and then nodded at the still-seated Lucas, “Right, George?” There sure were some awkward looks for that one.

Akin to the night itself, this piece has focussed on the technical gaffes and not the actual winners, so here they are. “Days of Our Lives,” grabbed the big one: Best Drama, while “CBS News Sunday Morning,” won Best Morning Show, beating “Good Morning America” and “Today.” “Dr. Oz” won in the information talk show category and Doug Davidson won for Best Actor on “The Young and the Restless."
