Socialite and reality TV star Paris Hilton has found herself on the receiving end of a terrifying (and actually rather cruel) practical joke at the hands of an Egyptian comedy show.

The 34 year old hotel chain heiress unwittingly made an appearance on the prank series ‘Ramez Wakel el-Gaw’ (or ‘Ramez in Control’), in which she was a passenger on board a plane which she believed was about to crash, according to the Huffington Post.

The premise of the latest series of the show is essentially that each celebrity thinks they’ve been invited to the opening of a new luxury hotel in Dubai – when they accept and board the plane they think is heading there, they sit next to the show’s undercover host Ramez Galal, who basically plays up to the idea that the plane is in distress and about to make an emergency landing. Cue chaos.

In the clip below, we see Hilton asking “Is this normal?” as the plane begins to sputter out. Then, carnage ensues as she starts yelling “What the f*** is going on!?” repeatedly as the rest of passengers grow hysterical.

At one point, the plane’s side doors appear to open and Hilton screams “No! I don’t want to jump!” as one of the actors (at least we presume that’s what they were…) throws another out of the hatch. Instead, she yells at Galal: “Just tell them to land!”

Eventually, Galal breaks it to her that the whole thing has been a stunt – telling Paris that “we love you”. After the farcical simulation had ended, Hilton apparently tells Galal that dying in her plane is her biggest fear. Might have gone a bit overboard there, guys!

On Saturday, Hilton tweeted: “Scariest moment of my life. I really believed the plane was going to crash & we were all going to die.”
