Are Nicholas Stoller And Michael Dowse The Frontrunners For The Ant-Man Chair?

Edgar Wright Paul Rudd Michael Dowse

The Internet has definitely sided with Edgar Wright since he and Ant-Man unceremoniously split on May 23. That probably has something to do with Joss Whedon’s Twitter salute to the ex-Ant-Man man, but either way, a running joke has prevailed: no one wants to direct Ant-Man. Did we say Ant-Man enough? Ant-Man.

Nicholas StollerNicholas Stoller Could Get The Job

It’s not exactly a desirably gig; the film already has a ridiculous amount of hype behind it, and whoever gets the job will have to stick to a tight schedule with a script that is still in flux. It’s the kind of situation the phrase ‘deep end’ was first uttered for.

Does Anybody Out There Want To Direct 'Ant-Man'?

Edgar Wright Adam McKay Paul Rudd

Following the departure of Edgar Wright, Anchorman director Adam McKay was being courted to direct Ant-Man for Disney and Marvel though has passed up the opportunity. It seemed a strange direction for the movie to be heading in, though the heavyweight studios are likely to have been attracted to McKay's long history with lead star Paul Rudd

Adam McKayAdam McKay Will Not Direct Ant-Man

Wright, who last directed The World's End, had been attached to the superhero movie since 2006 though resigned last week over creative differences. It left Disney scrambling around for a director late on Friday night and they would have confident in landing McKay before the comedy filmmaker rejected their advances.

With Edgar Wright Out, "Ant-Man" Still Lives, But Who Will Take It?

Paul Rudd

Anchorman director Edgar Wright has pulled out of Marvel’s Ant-Man project an his replacement is currently the subject of speculation. According to The Wrap, Rawson Marshall Thurber is the current frontrunner to take on the movie, due out in 2015. “Multiple individuals familiar with the project” have reportedly confirmed the news, though there is still no official word from Marvel.

Edgar Wright
Wright, who directed cult classics like Shaun of the Dead and Scott Pilgrim vs. the World won't add his original style to the movie.

The studio does insist, however, that Ant-Man will make its planned release date of July 17 next year, despite the unforeseen circumstances. Another name reportedly on the list is that of Zombieland director Ruben Fleischer, however due to recent events in his personal life (Fleischer just had a baby with his wife, publicist Holly Shakoor Fleischer) he might be unable or simply reluctant to take on a massive, time-consuming project like Marvel’s next blockbuster. While Fleischer’s latest, Gangster Squad, was one of the most note-worthy flops of 2013, the helmer has proven that he has both the visual chops and the ability to balance drama and comedy with films like Zombieland.

Adam McKay Paul Rudd Evangeline Lilly Michael Douglas Edgar Wright

It's another is he-isn't he situations which will never truly be resolved unless Adam McKay chooses to take the position as Ant Man director, or it'll just remain another unconfirmed rumour. Ant Man has been in a state of development since 2003 and there still seems to be some troubles even with filming about to start this summer. With the film's initial director, Edgar Wright, walking out last week what will the future look like for the upcoming Marvel film?

Adam McKay is rumoured to be in talks with Marvel.

Edgar Wright, who has been working on the movie's script since 2003, resigned last week over creative differences. Reports suggest Marvel changed Wright's script without his permission. Wright not only penned the screenplay but was also set to direct, leaving the Ant Man team in dire need of a director. As Variety reported, McKay was seemingly in talks with the film's producers and may be stepping in to take over from Wright.

Why Ant-Man Is The Marvel Movie You Need To Get Excited About

Evangeline Lilly Paul Rudd

With reports that Evangeline Lily is in talk to play the female lead in Ant-Man, the film looks to be taking shape very nicely. With Edgar Wright directing and Paul Rudd and Michael Douglas already on board to star, Marvel’s smallest hero might just end up being their biggest and best outing yet.

The Antman plot could be very interesting:

The story of Ant-Man is pretty complex even for the Marvel universe. The character first appeared as scientist Henry 'Hank' Pym, Pym ended up having a troubled character history and many were unsure how this would play out in the movie. However Edgar Wright has confirmed the Ant-Man movie will focus on Scott Lang as Ant-Man. In the comics, Lang steals the suit in order to help cure his daughter. Wright has kept mum about what the plot to the Ant-Man film will be but we do know it will feature both Hank Pym and Scott Lang. However Wright chooses to tackle the Ant-Man story it's sure to be an interesting one

Evangeline Lilly In Talks With Marvel For 'Ant-Man'

Evangeline Lilly Paul Rudd Michael Pena Michael Douglas

Ant-Man's love interest may be played by Evangeline Lilly. Lilly who has most recently appeared as the elf Tauriel in The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, is rumoured to be in early talks with Marvel, according to Variety.

The 34-year-old actress could be, should talks prove successful and media outlets accurate, starring as the daughter of Hank Pym and the love interest of Scott Lang/Ant-Man in the 2015 Marvel film adaptation of their comic-book classic. Paul Rudd, best known for his comedic roles in Friends and Anchorman, is set to star as Ant-Man, a superhero who is able to change his size. Michael Douglas will be involved in the project and Michael Peña (Gangster Squad) is also rumoured to have been cast in the film.

In comic book lore, there have been three Ant-Men: the first being Hank Pym, a scientist who first discovers how to alter his size using a substance he creates. Pym, in the upcoming adaptation, will be played by Michael Douglas. Although Pym did not have a daughter in the comics (strangely Lang did) this may be director and co-writer Edgar Wright's new different approach to the film.

The Sundance Film Festival is the place to be for young, aspiring filmmakers hoping to crack into the hotly-contested business of the movies. By the end of the film festival, which this year runs from 16-26 January, there are always a selection of film titles that are revived for the following awards season, and this year people are so eager for the celluloid showcase that a number of early contenders for festival glory have been marked before their debut release.

The dark God's Pocket stars Philip Seymour Hoffman and Eddie Marsan

In thirty years the film has discovered some of the most promising filmmakers out there and continues to deliver, from Roland Joffé’s The Killing Fields in the festival's opening year (1985) to last year's most notable success; Fruitvale Station, the debut feature length from Ryan Coogler. With another 120 films to get through this year it seems more than likely that at least one of the releases will be leaving Park City, Utah, with more than a few skiing lessons and a commemorative t-shirt.

Five Things To Know About Ant-Man Before The Movie Buzz Begins

Paul Rudd James Spader Stan Lee

Since the recent almost announcement that Marvel have cast Paul Rudd in the title role of the Ant-Man movie, the project seems about 1000% more real. It’s actually happening people. And despite Ant-Man sounding ridiculous and generally being one of Marvel’s lesser known heroes, let’s not forget that this is the company that made the guy who fights armed forces with a bow and arrow cool. These people know what they’re doing. So in honor of Ant-Man being a real thing in the movie-verse, we’re going to give you the five facts about him that you really need to know in advance.

Paul Rudd, Anchorman 2 Premiere
In honour of Rudd's tentative casting, here's the rundown on Ant-Man.

1. He can shrink in size and control bugs, hence the name. No, seriously, this man’s superpower is that he can control insects and use them in his crime solving escapades. We’re already picturing a giant CGI wave of bugs flooding the streets and foiling the plans of whichever villain the screenwriters decide to pit against him. And isn’t that an exciting prospect.

The Legend Continues, But Was 'Anchorman 2' Worth The Effort?

Will Ferrell Paul Rudd

It's been nine years since we first met Ron Burgundy, as inhabited by Will Ferrell in 2004's Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy. The film wasn't a massive hit when it opened, but over the years a cult following has steadily grown. So with the increasing popularity it was inevitable that a sequel would arise. (You can read our review of the movie here).

And here we have Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues, a comedy pastiche that's likely to only properly please die-hard fans of the original's mixture of broad goofiness and surreally absurd gags. The gang is all back - Will Ferrell, Paul Rudd, Steve Carell, David Koechner, Christina Applegate, plus cameos from Harrison Ford, Vince Vaughn and many more.

Paul Rudd Cast As Ant-Man In New Superhero Movie

Paul Rudd

Paul Rudd has been cast in his first superhero role as he takes the lead in upcoming Marvel action movie, Ant-Man. The Anchorman actor beat off competition from the likes of Joseph Gordon-Levitt to secure the role and will play the genius Dr. Hank Pym who devises a method to shrink himself to the size of an ant.

Rudd, 44, has made his name as a comedy actor, but has reportedly contributed to the Ant-Man screenplay, as he did with offbeat comedies Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World and The World's End. The decision is said to have swung in Rudd's favour due to Gordon-Levitt's prior commitments to DC Comics' The Sandman movie, according to BBC News.

Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues Review

Good

It's been nearly 10 years since we first met Ron Burgundy, and this sequel is just as random and silly as expected. It's also more like a series of referential gags than an actual movie comedy, and as with the original film the best bits are knowing jabs at absurdities of the news media. This time we're in the 1980s, so there's plenty to make fun of here.

Over the past decade, Ron (Ferrell) has married Veronica (Applegate), and they've taken a joint anchor job in New York, where they live with their son (Nelson). But when Veronica lands a coveted network news job, Ron has a meltdown. Drunk and unemployed, he's approached to work on a new station: a 24-hour cable news channel. Even though he's sure this crazy idea will never catch on, Ron re-assembles his old team (swaggering reporter Rudd, dazed weatherman Carell and goofy sports guy Koechner) to beat handsome anchor Jack Lime (Marsden) in the ratings. And Ron's offbeat, populist approach changes the news forever.

This comical exploration of how TV news has shifted from hard reporting to shameless audience pandering gives the film a whiff of depth, which helps make the comical moments a lot funnier. The screenplay is a series of sketch-comedy episodes that don't quite hang together. For example, you could delete an extended sequence in which Ron goes blind, nurses a shark to health and sings a big musical number, and the movie wouldn't change at all. But all of these sequences have an absurd genius behind them that often gets us laughing, sometimes in disbelief.

'Ant-Man' Will Star Paul Rudd In 2015. Should We Be Excited?

Paul Rudd Joseph Gordon-Levitt Robert Downey Jr

Marvel is steadily gearing up for its highly anticipated “phase 3” and it looks like the studio may cast Paul Rudd as Ant Man, a lesser known superhero soon to be brought to the Marvel film universe. Ant-Man is definitely one of the less coveted roles within the Marvel-verse and the decision to bring the character into the films was originally questioned by fans, because of Ant-Man’s mostly comedic role in the comics. Rudd himself is currently promoting his most recent movie, Anchorman 2, where he stars opposite Will Ferrell, Steve Carell and Christina Applegate.

Rudd's casting is yet to be confirmed by Marvel officials.

Then again, there were similar concerns before the introduction of Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man. Originally, the actor was selected for his similar personality to the character of Tony Stark and with Paul Rudd being known mostly for his comedic work, it seems the studio might be using the same casting method.

The legend of San Diego's Channel 4 news team may have long since dissolved over the years, but anchors Ron Burgundy, Brian Fantana, Brick Tamland and Champ Kind are set to return as part of a brand new 24-hour news channel. In a bid to innovate newsreading and once again come out on top over Ron's wife and rival Veronica, they decide that they're going to give viewers the news they want to hear rather than what they need to. As usual, their antics involve the usual scandal and debauchery, putting their careers and tarnished reputations once again in the media's line of fire. No matter though, as these co-workers have each other's backs all the way.

Steve Carell Had Difficulty Filming 'Anchorman 2' Because Will Ferrell Was Too Funny For Him

Actor Steve Carell had difficulty working on the 'Anchorman' sequel because he found Will Ferrell so funny it was ''almost impossible'' to work with him. The 51-year-old 'Despicable Me' actor apparently had no quarrels with immediately signing on for 'Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues', as the 2004 original was the "best fun" he's ever had. On the flip side, it made his job incredibly difficult, as he was almost unable to film certain scenes as he struggled to keep his composure.

Will Ferrell David Koechner Steve Carell Paul Rudd

Ron Burgundy, Will Ferrell's timeless comic creation and the star of the upcoming Anchorman sequel, Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues, has no shortage of fans and imitators. Paul Gerke, the sports reporter for Boise’s KIVI Channel 6 local television station is both a fan and imitator of San Diego's finest newscaster, and on Halloween he saw his opportunity not just to dress up as Burgundy, but give his best impression of him too.

Anchorman 2
The Anchorman sequel will be out in time for Christmas

On Thursday's (31 October) edition of the evening news, Gerke donned a classy suit, a thick moustache and (probably) a glass of scotch under his desk to create a piece of local TV gold. His sportscast was littered with Anchorman references too, with Gerke picking his teeth at the beginning of the segment, commenting that he has just eaten ribs, shamelessly promoting the new Dodge Durango (Burgundy appears in a new line of commercials for the vehicle) and cramming no shortage of quotes from the first film into his 5 minute segment. The video is a must see.

Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues - International Trailer

The news used to be a noble profession before the likes of Ron Burgundy with his set of San Diego anchors Brian Fantana, Brick Tamland and Champ Kind took over. Now it's all about scandal, debauchery and vulgarity and Burgundy and his team are fighting hard to keep it that way. As per usual, they manage to get themselves in all kinds of trouble involving drugs in the studio, completely inappropriate news headlines, accidental racism (not to mention homophobia) and, of course, getting laid, and it's all in a bid to remain on top of the media as Ron fights his own battle to professionally tower over his wife and rival Veronica.

'Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues' is the even more hilarious sequel to 2004's 'Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy'. There's definitely more laughs to be had from everyone's favourite news readers as Judd Apatow ('The 40 Year Old Virgin', 'Knocked Up', 'Forgetting Sarah Marshall') returns to produce it. Director Adam McKay ('Step Brothers', 'The Other Guys', 'Talladega Nights') is also back alongside his co-writer and star Will Ferrell. It is set to feature in cinemas just in time for Christmas, premiering in theatres everywhere on December 20th 2013.

Excellent

For this low-key comedy-drama, writer-director David Gordon Green harks back to the quirky charms of his 2003 gem All the Real Girls (rather than the overt silliness of Pineapple Express or The Sitter). This is an astute story about two men who are begrudgingly forced to look at the truth about themselves while isolated from the rest of society. It's a simple idea, beautifully shot and acted.

Set in 1988, the story centres on Alvin (Rudd), who hires his girlfriend's brother Lance (Hirsch) to work with him one summer repairing a rural stretch of Texas highway that was damaged by wildfires. These two guys have nothing in common, but share a tent as they move along the road and work through their private issues. Lance just wants someone to love, and is annoyed that he can't get a girl during weekend trips to town. And Alvin is so devoted to his girlfriend that her break-up letter comes as a deep shock. So now there's nothing really holding these two guys together aside from their pathetic loneliness.

Both Rudd and Hirsch give offhanded, natural performances that play up the comical clashes between them while hinting at much darker issues gurgling beneath the surface. Neither is very good at striking up a conversation, and their awkward interaction is both hilarious and realistically messy. But they don't have many other people to talk to. Although there's a trucker (LeGault) who provides a super-strong homemade hooch, and they have a haunting encounter with a woman (Payne) who lost everything in the fire.

It's Between Joseph Gordon-Levitt And Paul Rudd For 'Ant-Man' Duties In Avengers Sequel

Joseph Gordon-Levitt Paul Rudd

Who wants to be the Ant-Man more? That’s what it might come down to. Trouble is, being the Ant Man is pretty cool, so we’re guessing the two hopefuls, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Paul Rudd might actually have to lift 100-times their own weight – like ants can – to prove they’re good enough.

Joseph Gordon-LevittJoseph Gordon Levitt would be our favorite to play Ant-Man

That won’t actually happen, but film casting is probably quite a long and boring process; perhaps subjecting the hopefuls to the strenuous or weird tasks their prospective characters have to do is the way forward. Although, that might lead to some bad murders. Maybe that’s a whole film in itself. Who should we cast for it?

Essentially, it's a comedy about friendship, specifically the friendship between highway worker Alvin (Rudd) and his girlfriend's stranger brother Lance (Emile Hirsch).

BREAKING! The Legend Returns: Full Anchorman 2 Trailer FINALLY Released As Filming Wraps Up [Trailer]

Will Ferrell Christina Applegate Steve Carell Kristen Wiig Paul Rudd David Koechner

After teaser videos have circulated for weeks, a full Anchorman 2: The Legend Returns trailer has finally been released, signalling the world is about to go crazy for the 'big deal' that is Ron Burgundy all over again. Planned for a late 2013 release, the film has been in the pipeline for quite some time - after first announcements in 2011 - making sure fan excitement reaches maximum levels of rabid hysteria before the film is finally released this Christmas.

Still classy in San Diego, the film will catch up with the legendary sleazeball and moustachioed news anchor, Ron Burgundy (Will Ferrell), and feature much of the same cast, including Steve Carell as Brick Tamland, Paul Rudd as Brian Fantana, David Koechner as Champ Kind and Christina Applegate as Veronica Corningstone. Only this movie sees the crew years on from where the first Anchorman left off, living life in the eighties and faced with the prospect of a rolling 24 hour news channel.

Now the team have more competition in the form of a handsome, well-dressed rival anchor to deal with and plenty more cringeworthy sticky situations for Burgundy.

Seth Rogen Reveals: 'This Is The End' Does Not Use Original Ending

Seth Rogen James Franco Emma Watson Michael Cera Channing Tatum Paul Rudd Rihanna Evan Goldberg Morgan Freeman Backstreet Boys

Seth Rogen's comedy This Is The End did not use its intended ending. The script was changed in order to accommodate a cameo from 90's pop stars Backstreet Boys leading a sing-along dance to 'Everybody', their 1997 single.

Director and co-writer Evan Goldberg said the idea had come from an off-the-cuff suggestion from his wife on how to make the ending more interesting. Seth Rogen, who stars in the comedy, was determined to make the idea a reality.

The Backstreet Boys cameo was not exactly what the writers had planned as the original ending was meant to feature Morgan Freeman, reviving his role as God as in Bruce Almighty. Unfortunately the actor had no interest in participating in the project. Rogen was then adamant the Backstreet Boys should play a part especially, as he said in an interview with The Vulture, he is "the appropriate age" to remember when "Backstreet Boys were kings".

The Backstreet Boys are not the only celebrities to feature in this 'apocalyptic' comedy. In fact the whole film is one cameo appearance after the other. None of the actors are playing characters, merely portraying the public's perception of them.

Anchorman 2 Trailer

Ron Burgundy, Brian Fantana, Brick Tamland and Champ Kind have now hit the eighties and things are a little different. The legendary San Diego news anchors are now embarking on a different project, as part of a 24 hour news channel, but now they have fresh competition in the form of a young, handsome and well-dressed fellow anchor. Ron continues to put himself in sticky situations, this time involving some awkward racism with his new girlfriend's family during a social occasion among many other things. Will their antics extend beyond their previous capers involving angry bears and mean bikers?  Or will the eighties bring with it a more streetwise news bunch? We doubt the latter.

The sequel to 2004's 'Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy' is set to hit our screens soon entitled 'Anchorman: The Legend Continues'. We'll likely be seeing yet more hijinks from one of Hollywood's favourite comedy casts as they return following at massive $85 million gross from the original movie. Produced again by Judd Apatow ('The 40 Year Old Virgin', 'Knocked Up', 'Forgetting Sarah Marshall'), Adam McKay ('Step Brothers', 'The Other Guys', 'Talladega Nights') also makes a return as director and co-writer alongside Will Ferrell. It is scheduled for release in the UK on December 20th 2013.

Admission Review

Very Good

We generally expect more wacky humour from Fey and Rudd than this comedy, which is packed with perhaps too-smart dialog and a lot of warm sentiment. It's an odd mix, looking for jokes in gender roles and higher education, while also finding dramatic and romantic moments along the way. But in the end, the engaging actors make it worth a look.

Fey plays Portia, an admissions officer at the prestigious Princeton University, who's in competition with her office rival (Reuben) for a big promotion as their boss (Shawn) gets ready to retire. Unhelpfully, Portia's long-term boyfriend (Sheen) chooses this moment to leave her. Diving into her job, she visits a progressive high school where the director John (Rudd) is trying a bit too hard to get her to consider unconventionally gifted student Jeremiah (Wolff) for admission to Princeton. Then John tells Portia that he thinks Jeremiah is the son she gave up for adoption 18 years earlier. Meanwhile, Portia's aggressive feminist mother (the superb Tomlin) brings up even more past issues she's never quite dealt with.

The way the screenplay piles all of this on Portia at the same time is more than a little contrived, but Fey juggles it effortlessly, throwing hilariously intelligent one-liners around even in the more intensely serious scenes. Opposite her, Rudd is more understated than usual, and also creates a strongly defined character as a rootless wanderer who just wants to help make the world a better place, but needs to pay more attention to his adopted Ugandan son (Spears). Yes, screenwriter Kroner throws in every variety of parent-child issues too.

Jennifer Aniston stripping in theWe're The Millerstrailer has predictably dominated all talk of Rawson Marshall Thurber's new comedy movie this week, though it's worth pointing out that this thing may actually be pretty good. Aniston strips down for Jason Sudeikis in the trailer and the pair become bound together on a doomed trip to Mexico to smuggle drugs back into the U.S. for a mobster - played by a horrendously miscast Ed Helms, it seems.

Sudeikis' character David forms a fake family made up of Aniston, Emma Roberts and Will Poulter who set off to Mexico in the hope of avoiding suspicion at the border. The comedy actor is always good value for money and steals the trailer (apart of Aniston stripping of course) when he realises how much marijuana he has to haul back to America, telling his boss, "This is not a smidge, you got me moving enough weed to kill Willie Nelson man!."

Watch the We're The Millers trailer:

At the end of the clip, Will Poulter gives us a word-perfect a cappella rendition of TLC's Waterfalls, before the original song closes things out. We're the Millers certainly looks funnier than Horrible Bosses and wouldn't have to do much to be a bigger commercial hit than Wanderlust, Aniston's 2012 film with Paul Rudd that grossed just $17.5 million domestically after receiving poor reviews.

Forget 'The Hangover', Zach Galifianakis Top 5 (Other) Roles

Zach Galifianakis Tim Heidecker Eric Wareheim Ted Danson Steve Carell Paul Rudd Robert Downey Jr Will Ferrell

Zach Galifianakis may well be back for another stab at The Hangover franchise, with the rest of the goofy gang who constantly managed to find ways to get more boozed up than anyone thought possibly imaginable, but he's got plenty more to his canon than that too, you know? The actor has been in the game since the 90's, and already had ammassed a large selection credits before the first Hangover film came about in 2009. 'Sure, anyone can tot up how many small speaking roles he's had listed on IMDB' I hear you cry; well, let us show you that there is a little more to Zach Galifianakis than roles where he simply has to drink hard and be a little bit weird.

Anchorman 2 Trailer

Ron Burgundy, Brian Fantana, Brick Tamland and Champ Kind return in this hilarious sequel to 2004's 'Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy' which saw Ron land himself a hot girlfriend, get attacked by a bear and have his dog thrown over a bridge by an angry biker. The legendary San Diego news anchors are doubtlessly set to entertain us with more news casting exploits which, according to the latest teaser trailer, will involve 'submachine guns and boobies' and getting 'stinky'. One thing's for sure, it's going to be funnier, weirder and much ruder.

Ron Burgundy Is Coming With Better Hair Than Ever In New Anchorman 2 Trailer

Will Ferrell Paul Rudd Vince Vaughn Christina Applegate Kanye West Kristen Wiig Amy Poehler Tina Fey Drake Harrison Ford

As the excitement builds for the Anchorman sequel Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues, another trailer for the film was released. You can check out the second trailer, featuring the beloved cast of Will Ferrell, Paul Rudd, Vince Vaughn and Steve Carell. But we already knew they were in it and, exciting as that prospect is, the cameos, which have been announced recently, make this movie look even better. Viewers will get appearances by actors like Kanye West, Kristen Wiig, Amy Poehler, Jim Carrey, Tina Fey and Harrison Ford, New York Daily News reports.

And the cameos just keep coming. After Kanye West, busy as he is, wrapped his scenes in New York last week, there was another surprising appearance on set – namely an actor, sporting a fro and the appropriate 70s duds, who looked suspiciously like singer/rapper Drake. Apparently the "Take Care" performer will be the latest star in the constellation already appearing in this film. Not only that, but the Daily News also posted several pictures of stars Will Ferrell and Christina Applegate taken during shooting. They look fierce, they look ready to go, but most of all, they look, unsurprisingly, very 70s. And if nothing else, the stills make it obvious that Anchorman 2 will definitely feature some excellent hairdos.

This Is The End Trailer

When actor James Franco threw a party for his fellow movie stars including the star-studded cast of 'Knocked Up' and several stars of Seth Rogen's comedies including Seth himself, Jay Baruchel, Jason Segel, Jonah Hill, Craig Robinson, Danny McBride, Michael Cera and Christopher Mintz-Plasse, no-one expected it to be anything more than your average drink fuelled Hollywood superparty. However, things take a turn for the worst when they experience a major earthquake; the ground opens up to the hottest depths of the Earth's core swallowing up Rihanna and Jason Segal as mysterious beasts start swarming around outside. What's a comedy cast to do with limited food and no real skills of the like they portray in the movies - especially when golden girl Emma Watson bursts in on them wielding an axe demanding all their resources. This is Hollywood versus the apocalypse, but who would really win?

Kanye West Spotted Filming Anchorman 2 On Atlanta Rooftops

Kanye West Will Ferrell Paul Rudd Christina Applegate Nicole Kidman Harrison Ford Vince Vaughn Luke Wilson

Kanye West appears to have landed himself a cameo in the Anchorman sequel after Hollywood.com reported he was spotted filming with Christina Applegate and Paul Rudd on a downtown Atlanta rooftop. It's safe to assume Anchorman 2 was the movie being filmed, with Kanye thought to be making a very brief cameo.

The eyewitness said, "he was quite afraid of heights and required an umbrella for shade most of the time he was on the roof." The Anchorman 2 production began in Atlanta in the past few weeks filming scenes in Woodruff Park and the surrounding areas, many of which have been captured by the prying eyes of the paparazzi. Writer and producer Will Ferrell is apparently a long-time hero of Kanye's, having included his dialogue from Blades of Glory in his song N*ggas In Paris. Following his infamous Taylor Swift/MTV VMA's controversy, Kanye compared himself to Ron Burgundy in a Twitter rant.

The sighting comes just 24 hours after Tina Fey and Amy Poehler were see beating up co-star Sacha Baron Cohen with crowbars! The rumors are that Vince Vaughn and Luke Wilson have also filmed very brief performances at the Atlanta set, while Nicole Kidman will be featured in a "secret" un-credited role, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Harrison Ford will be a news anchor in the new movie.

Nicole Kidman Takes On Comedy Once Again With Anchorman 2 Cameo

Nicole Kidman Will Ferrell Steve Carell Paul Rudd

It’s official - Nicole Kidman has shot an uncredited cameo for the upcoming Will Ferrell flick Anchoman: The Legend Continues. Yep, you guessed it, that’s the sequel to the hilarious (imho) Anchorman. Kidman is adding her name to an already pretty impressive cast. Along with the original stars Will Ferrell, Steve Carell and Paul Rudd, Harrison Ford himself is going to make a brief appearance as well. Looks like Ron Burgundy’s crew is growing by the day. Can you imagine what that set must be like during filming? It’s no surprise Kidman would be eager to jump on this particular bandwagon.

This isn’t Kidman’s only dabble in the comedy world of late. In 2011, she shot a cameo in Adam Sandler’s Just Go With It. Apparently these kinds of lighthearted roles are simply in her blood. Hopefully you’re all excited for the Anchorman sequel and for Kidman’s appearance as well. The movie is currently still in production and the release date has been set for December 20th this year. That’ll certainly be one holiday flick to look out for.

And if you simply can’t wait that long for your next fix of Ron Burgundy, you can catch the teaser for Anchorman: The Legend Continues below.

Tribeca Film Festival 2013 Line-Up Includes Paul Rudd's Christmas Tree Caper

Paul Rudd Paul Giamatti Ethan Hawke Tribeca Film Festival

The 2013 Tribeca Festival has revealed its line-up for the forthcoming event, the film festival rising from humble origins in 2002 to become one of the largest in America – as proven by the appearance of some star names in its line-up of films this year, including Paul Rudd, Paul Giamatti and Ethan Hawke, among others.

Among those notable among the glut of announcements for the festival, which takes place from April 17th until April 28th in Manhattan, is Almost Christmas, which stars Giamatti and Rudd. The film sees the pair star as two good for nothing types who come up with a get rich quick scheme for Christmas, namely selling Christmas trees. There’s an issue with this though – Rudd’s character has just stolen Giamatti’s wife. Conflict awaits.

Elsewhere, Hawke is starring in the third installment of the Before… films. Before Sunrise came out in 1995 with the second, Before Sunset, coming out in 2004. Now Before Midnight is going to be screening in Tribeca, with the two main characters Jesse and Celine (played by Hawke and Delpy) moving to Europe whilst they continue their usual on again off again deep meaningful relationship thing. Another interesting one is Adult World, which sees Emma Roberts character have to take a job at a sex shop, where she encounters the eccentric writer played by John Cusack.

This Is 40 Review

Very Good

This overlong comedy is so episodic that watching it is exactly like sitting through five episodes of a sitcom back-to-back. It's funny and enjoyable, with characters we enjoy watching, but they continually spiral back to where they started, and in the end we feel like there's been a lot of fuss about nothing. Even so, the script offers plenty of hilarious observational humour, and the cast is thoroughly entertaining.

Reprising their roles from Knocked Up, Rudd and Mann play Debbie and Pete, who turn 40 within a week of each other. But Debbie isn't coping very well with it, and her emotions swing wildly from steamy lust to fiery rage while Pete just tries to hang on. Their daughters (played by Apatow and Mann's real daughters Maude and Iris) each have their own issues to stir into the mix. And then Pete's needy father (Brooks) turns up with problems of his own, forcing Debbie to think about her own distant father (Lithgow). Meanwhile, the economic crunch is causing problems for both of their businesses.

Yes, both of them own businesses. This is not the typical struggling 40-something couple, so it's not easy to sympathise with many of their issues. Fortunately, Apatow's dialog is packed with brazen honesty and an appreciation for rude gags that keep us laughing even in the absence of an actual storyline we can get involved in (although there's one major plot point along the way). Rudd and Mann were arguably the best thing in Knocked Up, so it's great to let them take the spotlight here, making the most of their sparky interaction. And aside from experts like Brooks and Lithgow, there is a continual stream of superb side roles, including Fox as Debbie's oversexed and possibly embezzling employee and McCarthy as a furious school parent (her big scene is expanded into a brilliantly improvised outtake riff in the closing credits).
