Music icon Paul Simon is auctioning off a private music lesson to raise money for his Children's Health Fund charity.

The Graceland singer will personally teach the lucky winner guitar or songwriting skills in a one-on-one session, and the lot - hosted on charity auction website CharityBuzz.com - had attracted bids of up to $10,000 (£6,200) on Tuesday (16Oct12).

Organisers of the sale hope the lesson with the multi-Grammy Award winner will raise $75,000 (£46,500).

Simon co-founded the Children's Health Fund in 1987 with paediatrician/child advocate Irwin Redlener to provide essential and innovative healthcare for children.
