The movie could be headed for a $150+ million weekend.
The Fast & Furious franchise is going out with a bang. Or, if we’re talking sounds, it’s probably more of a ka-ching. Since its release on Thursday, Furious 7 has already recorded the highest opening of 2015. On Friday, the flick made a spectacular $67.3 million, according to Box Office Mojo.
Furious 7 gave Paul Walker a final tribute.
The numbers put it on track to close the weekend past the $150 million mark. Of course, we won’t know until Monday morning. According to BOM’s stats, this puts the flick in tenth place for all-time biggest opening, on par with The Hunger Games and The Dark Knight. It's up 74 percent on Fast & Furious 6, which was the previous best debut in the 14-year-old franchise. In a single day, Furious 7 has already earned more than the third instalment in the franchise (The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift) grossed during its entire run.

For their seventh adventure, the Fast & Furious cast and crew continue to outdo themselves with mind-boggling stunt driving and outrageous action mayhem, this time infusing everything with emotion as a way of honouring late actor Paul Walker. The rip-roaring pace and more internalised drama combine effectively to create a riotous thrill ride that might actually bring a lump to the throat. Even if it's all utterly preposterous, it's solidly entertaining.
Things pick up right where Part 6 left off, with former black-ops killer Deckerd Shaw (Jason Statham, who else?) determined to avenge his fallen brother. As he tracks them down, Dominic and Brian (Vin Diesel and Paul Walker) have reassembled their team (Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson and Chris 'Ludacris' Bridges) to take a job with shady government agent Mr Nobody (Kurt Russell). Their target is the even shadier villain Jakanda (Djimon Hounsou), who has kidnapped a genius hacker (Nathalie Emmanuel) to get his hands on her all-seeing gadget. But Shaw is on their trail as they track Jakanda to the mountains of Azerbaijan, and he interrupts their mission there as well as in the deserts of Abu Dhabi and the streets of downtown Los Angeles.
The double-edged premise offers all kinds of opportunity for plot twists, but of course the main point of these movies is to create increasingly insane set-pieces. This time, the film opens with Brian explaining to his young son that cars can't fly, after which director James Wan proves otherwise, flinging our heroes' hot rods into the sky from airplanes, tower blocks and cliff tops. Amazingly, they seem able to steer even in mid-air! But never mind, it looks so painfully cool that there's little do do but sit back and enjoy the chaos, knowing that even though a flashy vehicle is destroyed every minute, there's a newer, more awesome car coming in the next scene.

Under the stewardship of James Wan, 'Furious 7' flies.
We were really hoping Furious 7 wasn't going to be terrible. Like, really terrible. The global franchise was always in good hands with James Wan at the helm and the casting was pretty good - so any possibility of doing the late Paul Walker a disservice was actually pretty slim.

Industry insiders are predicting that 'Furious 7' will enjoy an opening week of more than $100 million, which would be a record.
With still more than a week to go until it makes its official U.S. premiere, movie industry insiders are predicting a record-breaking first week of box office sales for Furious 7, according to Variety.
Tracking services and analysts are suggesting that the Universal picture, the seventh instalment of the wildly successful franchise The Fast & The Furious, will make as much as $115 million in its debut week. If that happens, it will set a new record for an opening week during April, topping the release of Captain America: The Winter Soldier which made $95 million last year.

Many attendees of the roast, including Walker's friend and co-star Ludacris, were deeply offended by the off-colour jokes.
Most of the jokes at the March 14th taping went down very well, including many brutal ones at Bieber’s expense, but a spokeperson for Comedy Central has stated to the Hollywood Reporter that the remarks about the Fast & Furious actor will be cut during the edit before its March 30th broadcast.

Cast member Tyrese Gibson and producer Neal Moritz led the tributes to the late actor, who died in November 2013 in a car crash.
Tyrese Gibson and various cast and crew members of Furious 7 paid tribute to the late actor Paul Walker at a surprise premiere screening of the movie. The seventh instalment of the massively successful Universal franchise was a late addition to the bill at SXSW festival.
Gibson (who plays Roman Pearce in the films) spoke during an introduction before the screening and said “We don’t look at y’all as fans of the movie. Most of you grew up with us. The reason we kept the movie going is on behalf of our brother Paul Walker.”

The sins of London have followed them home. After throwing Owen Shaw (Luke Evans) out of a cargo plane, his brother, Ian Shaw (Jason Statham), is out for revenge. When Shaw kills Han Seoul-Oh (Sung Kang) in a brutal car-crash, Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) and Brian O'Conner (Paul Walker) are forced back behind the wheel for one last ride, in order to find the man who killed their friend before he can get to them. This investigation will see the team dropping their cars out of planes and driving between buildings to prove that they are the Furious 7.

One year on, Walker's family and friends still find it hard to deal with the loss.
It’s been a year since the death of Paul Walker. With all the bad stuff that happened in 2014, the actor’s death last winter sort of fell behind in newsworthiness, but he is constantly in the thoughts and prayers of his family – both his real one and his onscreen one.
A year later, life without the beloved son, father and friend hasn't gotten any easier.
There will be another three movies in the 'Fast & Furious' franchise. Universal Studios was optimistic about the future of the franchise despite rumours to the contrary.
There may be another three movies in the Fast & Furious franchise.
Paul Walker starred in a number of the Fast & Furious franchise.
There's ever more death-defying stunts to be had with this crack team of vehicular warriors, who reunited after a brief retirement when DSS agent Luke Hobbs enlisted them to help catch former soldier Owen Shaw and stop his rampage of terrorism. After he is spectacularly defeated, the team, led by Dominic Toretto, are faced with another potentially fatal situation as his brother Ian Shaw is dead-set on revenge. Somehow, the team find themselves parachuting from an aeroplane in their respective cars, hanging off the edge of cliffs and various other deadly exploits as Shaw and his men ruthlessly hunt them down. Danger and disaster might be what these guys live their lives by, but have the team finally met their match?

Is this the final Furious? The trailer kinda makes it seem so.
The first trailer for Furious 7 (aka the seventh Fast & Furious) is out and here’s the good news – it’s faster and furious-er than ever. The late Paul Walker takes the honorary spot in a trailer that features him dangling off a cliff and then running up a bus dangling from that same cliff and into a truck... oh, you’ll just have to watch the trailer. Also, camels.
Almost a year after Paul Walker's death, the actor received another tribute at the trailer launch.
No, I’m not even kidding. Featuring the ominous line “One last ride.” And Vin Diesel’s epic “I don’t have friends. I have family,” this one might actually be a tear-jerker. In some of the last material he filmed before his shocking death – in a car crash, of all things – last year, Paul Walker returns as Brian O’Connor, partnering with Vin Diesel’s Dominic “Dom” Torretto for one final heist.

Paul Walker's daughter, Meadow, and his 'Fast and Furious' co-stars have paid tribute to the later actor on Friday 12th September which would have been the late actor's 41st birthday.

"We made it", announced the cast and crew of Fast & Furious 7 after the film wrapped on 11th July. The statement, published on the film's Facebook page, thanked fans for their ongoing support and paid tribute to their late co-star Paul Walker.
The cast and crew of Fast & Furious 7 have announced the film is finally wrapped and it's certainly been a labour of love and loss. The announcement was made via the Fast & Furious Facebook page and thanked fans for their continued support. It also paid tribute to the late actor Paul Walker who died midway through filming in November 2013.
Paul Walker died in November 2013 and the cast and crew have paid tribute to the late actor.
After having tweaked the movie to allow for Paul Walker's death, Universal have pulled the 'Fast & Furious 7' release date forward by a week.
The release date of the next Fast & Furious movie has been pulled forward by a week from the 10th April to the 3rd April 2015, Universal Pictures has announced. According to THR, the decision was made to allow the action sequel to have "more international playdates."
The movie was originally scheduled for release this summer but actor Paul Walker's tragic death last November meant the filmmakers had to reconfigure some of the scenes he was scheduled to shoot. Walker died in a high speed Californian car crash along with his friend Roger Rodas and was killed instantly on collision with roadside obstacles.
Walker will still be featured in Fast 7 but some of his scenes will have been edited to account for his unfinished filming. He will be seen starring alongside franchise returners Dwayne Johnson, Tyrese Gibson, Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, and Jordana Brewster.
Paul Walker's younger brother Cody will star in future 'Fast & Furious' films, but is it such a good idea?
We were a little skeptical when we first heard that Paul Walker’s 25 year old brother, Cody Walker, would be taking his place in the Fast & Furious films. We found out back in April that both of Paul’s brothers, Cody and Caleb, would stand in for Paul’s character, Brian O’Conner, to finish his scenes and make sure that Paul’s memory lived on in the movies.
Paul Walker, pictured, died tragically in November last year before he had finished filming Fast & Furious 7
Paul Walker tragically died in a car crash on November 30, 2013. He had already filmed around 85% of his scenes for Fast & Furious 7, the remaining scenes his brothers were said to be stepping in for. The script was revised and Walker’s character was set to retire, rather than be killed off, although before Paul's fatal accident neither had been planned.
Cody could be a regular for the FF franchise
We already know that Cody Walker will help smooth the on-screen transition for Paul Walker’s character Brian O’ Conner since his brother’s tragic death last year. But will he stick around for further films in the franchise? It appears so.

"Paul's character Brian O'Conner will be seen retiring while his younger brother will join the crew,” a source told The Daily Mail. "Of course, Cody isn't a replacement for Paul in any way, but the producers were really grateful that he stepped in to help them finish this last film and Cody so likeable and charming," the source continued. "It would be a tribute to Paul that Cody carries on the Walker name in the 'Fast and The Furious' movies."

The younger brother of the late 'Fast & Furious' star is reportedly joining the cast in future movies as a new member of street racing crew.
Paul Walker's young brother, Cody, must be impressing the filmmakers while shooting 'Fast & Furious 7' as he is set to star in additional films.
The 40 year-old actor was killed in a car crash when visiting a charity event in Valencia, California, this past November (2013).
Watch the explosive trailer below.
‘Hustlers’, known in the USA as ‘Pawn Shop Chronicles’, has a brand new trailer featuring the late Paul Walker. The film draws together three plotlines - including meth addicted white supremacists, a man looking for his kidnapped wife, and an Elvis impersonator - centred on one place: the pawn shop; the epicentre for the poor trying to catch a break, and the focus of many a ridiculous situation.
Kevin Rankin and Paul Walker in "Hustlers"
And ridiculous situations are ample in the short peek we get in this new trailer. Walker himself seems to have adopted a ‘trailer trash’ character, bemoaning his partner in crime for swapping their shotgun for money to buy fuel. Where did that shop take place? You guessed it. “Man, how the hell we gonna rob Stanley without a shotgun?” a dishevelled Walker asks. Matt Dillon, Elijah Wood, Brendan Fraser and Norman Reedus (of Walking Dead fame) also star.
The pawn shop is the last resort for most broke people; the place where the impoverished and the desperate sell off their most prized valuables in exchange for an obscenely disproportionate amount of money. In 'Hustlers', it's where three dramatic stories begin; first, a pair of newlyweds find themselves in the shop where, as fate would have it, the groom finds the ring of his first wife who has been missing for some time. While he decides to seek out her kidnapper, a pair of small time criminals are concocting a plan to rob their meth dealer - though their armed robbery plan is inhibited when one of them pawns his shotgun. Meanwhile, one serious-minded Elvis Presley impersonator wishes to pawn his alleged gold Elvis memorabilia as he moves into the town hoping to land a new job in a fairground.

Fast & Furious 7 is turning into a literal family affair.
The team behind Fast & Furious 7 has come up with a untraditional solution to finish shooting the late Paul Walker’s scenes. Production has employed Walker’s two brothers as body doubles in order to complete the actor’s last movie. When Walker died suddenly back in November of 2013, the production took a hiatus and producers had several meetings to figure out how to proceed with the film. Eventually, it was decided that filming would continue as planned, without any major re-writes. Several body doubles would be covered to complete walker’s remaining scenes. The actors would resemble him in build and get a full CGI transformation into his character, Brian O’Connor.
Walker during Sao Paulo Fashion Week
It seems that the clever folk at Universal have found the perfect doubles in Walker’s own brothers. Universal announced the news on Facebook Tuesday (April 15), writing, "The Fast & Furious saga is about family. The characters are connected by the bond of family, and it is how all of us who have worked together for more than thirteen years feel about each other."
The 'Ride Along' actor has hit back at claims that he is a sore loser.
Ice Cube has felt compelled to respond publically after finding himself the centre of a heated internet furore over comments he made after Sunday's MTV Movie Awards. The rapper/actor allegedly hightailed it out of the awards when it emerged that he anwwd Ride Along co-star Kevin Hart would not be receiving Best Onscreen Duo for their latest comedy, with the award going instead to Vin Diesel and the late Paul Walker for Fast & Furious 6.
Ice Cube [R] Was A Little Miffed That He & Kevin Hart Didn't Win 'Best Onscreen Duo.'
Ice Cube said that his loss was the result of Walker fans' "sympathy" vote. "We was robbed," Ice Cube told USA Today. "Shame on you, MTV. We had the best chemistry of everybody nominated. For us not to win was crazy. We were the best on-screen duo, period. They should have gave it to [Walker] before he passed away."
Co-stars and fans remembered Walker's life and work.
The MTV Movie Awards are usually a time for fun, blockbusters and shirtless Zefron, but last night’s ceremony included a solemn moment, as co-stars and colleagues paid tribute to the late Paul Walker. The actor died in a high speed car accident in Santa Monica on November 30, 2013. Walker’s Fast & Furious co-star Jordana Brewster stepped up first to introduce the tribute video. In her moving speech, she called Walker “humble” and remembered his kindness.
The tear-inducing video paid tribute to Walker's acting work, as well as his numerous charities.
“He thought about others," Brewster said, referencing many of his philanthropic endeavors, including tagging great white sharks for research purposes. Walker's relief work was also mentioned, revealing a side of the actor, rarely glimpsed during his lifetime "He never asked for credit or glory. He was just a really good guy."

Brick Mansions is a Detroit district overrun with violent crime, inhabited by gangs and fuelled by drugs; an area so brutal, authorities were forced to build a wall around it. One particularly agile resident named Lino has managed to anger some of the more virile crime bosses by possessing a strong moral compass regarding the treatment of his neighbours. As he is quickly hunted down, it seems he is no match for his enemies - though he could be a match for the city's law enforcement. Damien is a cop enlisted to go undercover after one gang leader named Tremaine holds the Mayor and half the city hostage. He must team up (and keep up) with Lino if they want to stop Tremaine from destroying the city with a seriously destructive neutron bomb. Initially hostile towards each other, can Damien and Lino cast aside their differences to save their people?

Kim Kardashian has fired back at those who criticize the 10% she donates to charity from her eBay sales. How does she fare up against these other philanthropic celebrities?
It must seem to poor Kim Kardashian like she can’t get anything right! Kardashian has come under fire for donating only 10% of the profits which she rakes in from clothing auctions on auction website eBay to charity. RadarOnline have managed to get their hands on the tax documents from Kim’s November auction, for which she raised money for Life Change Community Church in California. The documents state that Kim donated $19,975 to charity, a pretty meagre sum in the grand scheme of things, considering the mum of one is worth an estimated $40 million.
Kim Kardashian has fired back at those who criticize her charitable giving
Kim has hit back at her critics, claiming, ‘I don’t publicize everything I do to help charities and people all over the world...So for people to attack me for giving 10% of my eBay auction sales to the people of the Philippines, that hurts. I do eBay auctions monthly and change the charity or church from time to time. I give 10% of all my earnings to charities, not just these eBay auctions.’
The late co-star will have a presence in the final scenes of the movie as filming resumes.

The late actor's daughter might be in for another big change in her life.
Paul Walker’s mother is taking steps to become the legal guardian of the actor’s 15-year-old daughter. The actor expressed his wish in his final will and his mother filed the petition on Tuesday, asking to be named legal guardian of the star's 15-year-old daughter, Meadow Rain.
Paul Walker's will explicitly states that Cheryl Ann Walker is to be Meadow's legal guardian.
There’s another reason for the petition – the papers say that “parental custody would be detrimental to the minor”, referring to the mother, Rebecca Jo Soteros. A hearing has been set for April 30.

Brittany Murphy's final film is due to be released four years after her death. What other actors have died before the release of their work?
Brittany Murphy’s final movie ‘Something Wicked’ is due to be released over four years since her tragic and ambiguous death. The plot focuses on a young couple who find themselves faced with a past that they had hoped would remain buried. Murphy died in 2009, after allegedly being stricken with acute pneumonia and severe anemia. The same results were found on her husband, Simon Monjack’s post mortum, when he died just five months after her.
Brittany Murphy looked extraordinarily thin in the months before her death
Over the past 15 years Brittany Murphy is not the only star to die before their latest project is released. Oliver Reed suffered a heart attack whilst filming Ridley Scott’s Gladiator, which came out in 2000. The movie was completed using CGI and a stunt double to finish his scenes. Those of you who have seen the movie can appreciate quite how flawlessly this was done, it's virtually impossible to tell that Reed isn't in certain scenes.
Filming is due to resume on Paul Walker's unfinished movie 'Fast & Furious 7', but how will producers tweak the script to finish the movie?
Fast & Furious 7 is due to resume filming, although sadly without veteran cast member, Paul Walker. 40 year old Walker died tragically in a car crash in November 2013, midway through filming the upcoming addition to long running series. Walker had starred in the very first movie in the franchise, The Fast and The Furious, back in 2001 as Brian O’Connor, FBI agent turned criminal spurred on by his involvement with hijacker Dominic Toretto, played by Vin Diesel.

The plot of Fast & Furious 7 will focus on Vin Diesel's character Dominic Toretto and his crew as they attempt to lead normal lives, but Ian Shaw, played by English hardman Jason Statham, is after revenge and once again the whole crew is threatened. They must find the man who killed their own crewmember, Han, before he finds them.
