Paul's next film would be his break out role, he was cast as undercover policemen 'Brian O'Connor' in 2001's 'The Fast & The Furious'. Sent to infiltrate the street racing world and the gang of Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel), O'Connor quickly finds himself in conflict with where his loyalties lie.

The success of this movie sanctioned a sequel to be made called '2 Fast 2 Furious', now set in Miami, O'Connor reunites with his childhood friend 'Roman Pearce' (Tyrese Gibson) to take down a drug exporter.

The Californian native wouldn't appear in 2006's 'The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift' but would reunite with Toretto's gang for 2009's 'Fast & Furious'. The plot is a follow on from the first instalment and he teams up with Dom once more, but this time it is to take down a heroine importer.

Toretto and O'Connor team up for a third time in 2011's 'Fast Five', which sees O'Connor and his wife 'Mia Toretto' (Dom's sister) break Dom out of a prison bus and flee to Brazil, but they are being tracked by DDS agent 'Luke Hobbs' (Dwayne Johnson). O'Connor and co, take down a Brazilian drug lord by stealing his high-tech safe from a police station to try and buy their freedom wile escaping from Hobbs and his team.
