Paul Walker’s daughter, 16-year-old Meadow Walker, has filed a wrongful death suit against Porsche. Paul died in November 2013 when he was the passenger in a friend’s Porsche vehicle. The two were driving in Los Angeles when the car left the road, hit a pole and burst into flames. Both Walker and the driver died as a result of injuries they sustained in the collision and severe burns.

In the suit, the documents of which were obtained by TMZ, Meadow alleges Porsche made shortcuts when it came to the car’s safety. The suit primarily focusses on the Porsche Carrera GT’s seatbelts and stabilisation system.

According to the suit, Paul was still alive when the car collided with the pole. His seatbelt, which allegedly had "snapped Walker's torso back with thousands of pounds of force, thereby breaking his ribs and pelvis," made it impossible for him to move out of the vehicle. The suit continues, claiming Paul was still alive when the car burst into flames around 1 minute 20 seconds later. He died as a result of breathing in soot from the burning car.

Shortly after the crash, Los Angeles law enforcement officials ruled the cause of the crash to be speeding (80-93MPH). However, the suit challenges this and claims the car was going between 60 and 73 MPH. It further claims the crash would never have occurred had Porsche installed a proper stabilisation system which prevents swerving. Most of their other models have a Porsche Stability Management System (PSM).

The suit appears to be motivated by the hope that the Porsche Carrera GT is taken off the roads in order to stop any other tragedies occurring.

"The bottom line is that the Porsche Carrera GT is a dangerous car,” Meadow’s lawyer says. “It doesn't belong on the street.  And we shouldn't be without Paul Walker or his friend, Roger Rodas."

Meadow has kept her father’s name in the news over the past few weeks. She recently announced she was launching a charitable foundation in his name which would fund further research into marine wildlife conservation, something Paul was deeply passionate about.
