Mod rocker Paul Weller has joined forces with British cycling hero Bradley Wiggins to record a new U.K. radio special.

Wiggins recently met up with his idol in Salford, north-west England to tape the one-off show, which will be broadcast on BBC Radio 6 over the Christmas (12) period.

The special will feature conversations between the sideburn-sporting pair as well as their favourite classic tracks.

James Stirling, head of programmes for 6 Music, says, "It's fantastic that two men who have excelled in their chosen fields can share their love of music on BBC Radio 6 Music."

The programme will cap a stellar 2012 for Wiggins - he became the first Brit to win the Tour De France in July (12) and also scooped a gold medal at the London Olympics.
