Perrie Edwards (born 10.07.1993)
Perrie Edwards is an English singer in the four-piece girlband Little Mix; the first band to ever win on 'The X Factor'.
Childhood: Edwards was born in South Shields, Tyne and Wear, England. Her parents are Debbie Duffy and Alexander Edwards.
Musical career: Edwards auditioned as a solo artist on 'The X Factor' in 2011 with the song 'You Oughta Know' by Alanis Morissette. However when she failed to make it through bootcamp, she was put together with her fellow reject Jesy Nelson into the group Faux Pas with Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jade Thirlwall in the group Orion. When both bands failed to get to judges' houses, they were put together as a four piece and named Rhythmix while being mentored by Tulisa Contostavlos. Later in the competition they were forced to change their name to Little Mix after they were unable to trademark Rhythmix due to a children's music charity having the same name. They were announced the winners of the series making them the first ever group to win the show. They have had two number one singles; their Damien Rice cover 'Cannonball' and 'Wings'; and their debut album 'DNA' peaked at number 3 in the UK charts.
Personal life: Edward has previously dated Zayn Malik from the boyband One Direction. In January 2013, it was reported that Zayn Malik had cheated on her by sleeping with Australian waitress Courtney Webb. He has since denied these reports and they have maintained their relationship.
