‘The League of Gentlemen’ and ‘Inside No.9’ star Reece Shearsmith is set to make a special guest appearance in the upcoming series of ‘Doctor Who’.

The 45 year old actor will appear alongside the current timelord Peter Capaldi and his assistant Jenna Coleman. Shearsmith gave a reaction to the news by saying: “I am absolutely thrilled to be filming ‘Doctor Who’ as Mark Gatiss has written a fantastic role for me in a very scary episode. It has been so exciting to be part of a very singular episode – which, I can say with authority will be unlike any previous episode of ‘Doctor Who’.”

Ever since ‘Game of Thrones’ actress Maisie Williams was announced as a guest star for the new season of ‘Doctor Who’, fans have been impatiently wondering who her character could be. But now showrunner Steven Moffat has opened up a little about what fans can expect when the young actress appears in the series later this year.

Appearing at the Television Critics Assn. press tour in Beverly Hills Moffat was asked by the crowd who Williams is playing. Naturally the show runner didn't give too much a way but he did shed a little light on what fans have to look forward to.

Ben Stephenson, the outgoing controller of drama commissioning at the BBC, has said the licence fee needs to be increased, or the broadcaster will be forced to slash its drama output. In his farewell interview with the Radio Times, Stephenson, who helped bring shows such as ‘Sherlock’ and ‘Doctor Who’ to British screens, described the BBC as being at a "tipping point” thanks to the licence fee cap.

Ben Stephenson was responsible for bringing ‘Sherlock’ to British TV screens.

Currently the licence fee paid by British television owners is capped at 2010's price of £145.50 until 31 March 2017, but thanks to inflation Stephenson says the cap is effectively a cut to the BBC's budget. "It really can't keep cutting... And the truth is the market isn't going to fill the gap," he told the Radio Times.

'Doctor Who' fans everywhere can sleep easy in the knowledge that the sci-fi series could go on 'indefinitely', according to former star Peter Davison - and we have to say, we're rather inclined to agree, especially since it has seen a complete overhaul once already.

After BBC drama boss Ben Stephenson suggested it could go on another 50 years, former Doctor Peter Davison took it one step further insisting to BANG Showbiz that he thinks 'it will go on fairly indefinitely' as long as the fans stay devoted and the producers stay committed. ‘Doctor Who’ showrunner Steven Moffat has spoken about the possibility of a ‘Doctor Who’ movie after leaked Sony emails said there was ‘tremendous interest’ in the series making a leap to the big screen.

Peter Capaldi will return as The Doctor in the Fall.

Speaking to the Radio Times, Moffat said that his main concern when it comes to a film would be ensuring that nothing happens to damage the BBC TV series. "You can't make a movie that damages the TV series," Moffat said.

'Doctor Who' showrunner Steven Moffat has assured fans of the series’ future, saying he expects the show to last at least five more years. Moffat was speaking to Doctor Who magazine as the series celebrates 10 years since its 2005 revival on the BBC.

Speaking about the show’s success Moffat said, “I thought it would last ten years. I didn’t think it would last ten years with BBC Worldwide trying to get me in a room to talk about their plan for the next five years!”

Steven Moffat, the head writer on Doctor Who, has explained there are no plans for a Doctor Who movie. Moffat explained there is simply no way the project is feasible, not only from a financial point of view but in terms of creating a film which will be on a large enough scale to match the show's enormous cultural impact.

But Saturday's episode (October 18th 2014), marked a turning point as Clara was forced to think like a Timelord when they landed in a particularly dangerous situation in Bristol. The TARDIS appeared to be inexplicably shrinking from the exterior, which ultimately left the Doctor stuck inside and Clara on the outside attempting to find and fix the problem.

What’s with all the gaps in security around Doctor Who recently? After several scripts for the show’s eighth seasons were leaked, now a full episode has found its way online. It’s a rough cut of the first episode off the season, Deep Breath and was leaked during the same BBC Worldwide security breach that also resulted in five leaked scripts for upcoming episodes , RTE reports. Which begs the question, did someone really hack through BBC security just to leak some DW content? Apparently there’s a reason some fans refer to themselves as Wholigans.

This is your first chance to see a full episode with Capaldi as the Doctor, but you absolutely should not do it, of course.

The clip in question is a black and white rough cut of the episode. Commenting on the latest revelations, a BBC Worldwide spokesperson said: "This is part of BBC Worldwide's ongoing security investigation into leaked unfinished Doctor Who materials.”

Seth Rogen Vs. North Korea: Seth Rogen should be feeling a little nervous right now. The actor and funnyman, who is preparing for the fall release of new movie The Interview, has been threatened after North Korea issued an official complaint to the UN. The past couple of days have been a feast for any diehard Doctor Who fan – first several DW scripts were leaked online in what has been described as the biggest security breach in the show’s history. The BBC has confirmed that the scripts for five unaired episodes of season 8 were genuine, although the source of the leak is still unknown, although it is believed to have originated in the BBC Worldwide offices in the US. The statement urged fans not to distribute the spoiler material.
