Pharrell Williams' 'Happy' Becomes The U.K.'s Most Downloaded Track Of All-Time

Pharrell Williams' hit track 'Happy' is still a fan favourite, especially overseas, as it recently became the most downloaded track ever in the U.K., overtaking Robin Thicke's 'Blurred Lines,' which Williams also featured on and produced.

Williams' 'Happy' is the U.K.'s the most downloaded track ever 

Since being released in June on the 'Despicable Me 2' soundtrack, as well as the 41 year-old's own studio album 'G I R L', 'Happy' has sold a whopping 1.62 million copies, the Official Charts Company reports.

Williams' success in the past year and a half has been staggering, overall he has earned three U.K. No.1 songs with 'Happy,' 'Blurred Lines' and 'Get Lucky,' which also are all part of the UK's 10 best-selling downloads of all time. Furthermore, all three tracks sold over 1 million copies within a year of being released, an achievement only reached once in Britian before, and that was by The Beatles.

"I would just like to say thank you, first and foremost, to the people, because the charts are determined by them. I have a lot to be thankful for because they've chosen these things and it's resulted in Happy being what it's become," the music mogul told OfficialCharts.com.

He continued, "The people of the UK have been so supportive of me over the years, allowing me to be an artist and allowing me to work with other people and supporting what it is that I do. That's the lifeline, without them you're just a musician with a couple of ideas but with them, that is the thing that changes everything when they get involved, your little idea can become something, so .thank you!''

Williams' 'Happy' has sold 1.62 million copies since being released in June
