The controversial presenter tweeted his disdain for J.K Rowling's series on its 20th anniversary
Controversial news anchor Piers Morgan has reignited his fierce feud with author J.K Rowling - but this time he has offended millions of people around the world at the same time. Following Rowling’s internationally famous Harry Potter series' 20th birthday yesterday (26 June) Piers was lacking in his congratulations.
Piers Morgan did not make many friends after sharing his thoughts on Harry Potter
Upon the anniversary, Rowling tweeted to her legion of fans and said: "20 years ago today a world that I had lived in alone was suddenly open to others. It's been wonderful. Thank you. #HarryPotter20."
After Spencer Morgan sided with Rowling in the hilarious Twitter spat between her and his dad, Piers semi-seriously (hopefully) said he was cutting him out of his will.
While his father and the famous author were arguing on Twitter about whether Morgan has actually read any 'Harry Potter' books – he claimed last week never to have written a word, despite having written an entire column about it several years ago – Spencer Morgan shared a handful of photos seeming to signify that Piers is a bigger fan than he’s letting on.

Morgan and Rowling spent the weekend exchanging blows on Twitter, while the rest of us grabbed some popcorn,
What followed was a back and forth Twitter war between the two, during which Rowling displayed her usual 140 characters brilliance and Morgan’s son made an awkward revalation.
He later launches a scathing attack on Ewan McGregor.
Piers Morgan has incurred the ridicule of the masses after a recent comment on Twitter where he branded Women's March demonstrators as 'rabid feminists'. He has so far received criticism from a number of his peers, including 'Good Morning Britain' co-host Susanna Reid.
Piers Morgan gets roasted on Twitter after 'Women's March' attack
Perhaps he was intending to incite angry messages from women everywhere, but instead he got the disapproval of his colleague, the derision of a popular British politician and a total roasting from an American comedian. Plus, he has just lost himself an interview with the star of 'T2 Trainspotting' Ewan McGregor.
Good on you, Ewan!
The actor disagreed with comments Morgan had made about Saturday's Women's Marches across the globe and decided not to go ahead with his appearance on the show minutes before he was due to be interviewed.

Morgan confronted Sarah Louise Bryan, the mother who billed another parent for £325 over her child's boots, on 'Good Morning Britain'.
Outspoken British presenter Piers Morgan has remained defiant after making a guest cry live in the studio during today’s edition of ‘Good Morning Britain’.
28 year old mother Sarah Louise Bryan made national news earlier this week when it was revealed she billed another parent for £325 after her three year old daughter Isabella came home from a playdate with ink staining her designer boots. However, it was then revealed that Bryan, a fashion designer by profession, had bought roughly 60 pairs of shoes for her daughter.
Debating all this on Tuesday’s episode of ‘Good Morning Britain’ on ITV, she and presenter Morgan exchanged words in a situation that quickly got out of hand.
The singer offered the presenter an interview to counteract his audacious claims
Lady GaGa recently revealed she suffers from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) after being raped at the age of 19 - but this rare insight into her life has not been met by understanding from everyone - particularly opinionated presenter, Piers Morgan.
Lady Gaga has refused to take Piers Morgan's criticisms of her lying down
Morgan, who fronts ITV’s Good Morning Britain, called the singer’s admission "vainglorious nonsense" and claimed Gaga’s revelation was only to help "promote" her career.

Piers Morgan had led the criticisms over 11 year old Cruz's Christmas single last week, accusing David and Victoria of exploiting their family.
David Beckham has hit back at critics who have been accusing him and his wife Victoria of ‘pimping out’ their 11 year old son Cruz by allowing him to launch a singing career, denying that they were exploiting him.
The 41 year old English soccer icon appeared on ‘Good Morning America’ on Monday (December 12th), and said the controversy around his son’s singing career was totally overblown and that the single was only a one-off, done because Cruz “wanted to give back” to charity.

The former Sex Pistols singer believes that the BBC banned him because he had threatened to reveal Savile's behaviour back in 1978.
John Lydon has said that his ban from BBC radio for speaking out against Jimmy Savile at the start of his career still rankles with him nearly forty years later.
Lydon, the former lead singer of punk icons the Sex Pistols and now the post-punk veterans Public Image Ltd., gave an interview back in 1978 in which he said the disgraced former presenter Savile was “into all sorts of seediness. We all know about it but we’re not allowed to talk about it. I know some rumours.”
Speaking to Piers Morgan for his 'Life Stories' show, the 59 year old said: “I’m very, very bitter that the likes of Savile and the rest of them were allowed to continue. I did my bit, I said what I had to. But they didn’t air that.”

The ex-CNN talk show host will be returning to 'America's Got Talent' as a guest panellist later this year.
Four years after he left the show, Piers Morgan has announced that he’ll be returning to the panel of ‘America’s Got Talent’ this year – as a guest judge. The British columnist and talking head announced the news on Twitter on Tuesday just ahead of the premiere of the show’s new season.
The tenth season of the NBC favourite kicked off last night (Tuesday May 26th), and the sometimes controversial journalist posted on Twitter: “BREAKING NEWS: America's Got Talent returns for Season 10 tonight... and I return to the judges' desk later this summer.”

Madonna has weighed in on the Dolce and Gabbana IVF controversy. Which other celebrities have offered their views?
Madonna has offered her opinion on the Dolce And Gabbana controversy and firmly supports Elton John's views. The controversy stems from a comment made by designer Domenico Dolce in an interview in an Italian magazine, Panorama. In the interview, Dolce described children born by IVF as "synthetic babies". The March issue of the magazine was released on 12th March but the backlash against the duo continues with many celebrities and LGBT groups calling for a boycott of the label and protesters picketing D&G stores.

The 'Knocked Up' star was snapped leaving a New York branch of the drug store last month, carrying several shopping bags. Piers Morgan has criticised the US government for quailing under pressure from the gun lobby. Morgan delivered an impassioned speech on the last episode of his CNN show 'Piers Morgan Live'.
Piers Morgan ended his three year run on his CNN talk show Piers Morgan Live on Friday (28th March) with a plea to the US government to change "the absurd gun laws".Morgan's show was cancelled following low ratings and possibly his involvement in the phone hacking scandal, nevertheless he left the show on a somewhat controversial note.
Morgan, ever controversial, used his final show as an opportunity to comment on the social and political implications of gun laws in the US. He referenced recent tragedies in which guns were used to kill large numbers of people which prompted criticism of gun laws in the US and worldwide.
Morgan has spent a number of years in the states over the past decade and described gun violence, such as that displayed in the Connecticut Sandy Hook massacre and the Colorado Aurora Cinema, as "a disease that infects every aspect of American life". Referencing these attacks Morgan said, as The Independent reports: "I assumed that after 70 people were shot in a movie theatre and then just a few months later 20 first-graders were murdered with an assault rifle in an elementary school, that the absurd gun laws in this country would change, but nothing has happened".

The 48 year-old Brit signed off on the last episode of 'Piers Morgan Live' by blasting gun control in America: "More guns doesn't mean less crime."
That time has now come. On Friday (March 28th) the 48 year-old said goodbye to his show 'Piers Morgan Live' with a statement about something he has been very vocal about in the past several years, gun-control.
Morgan, who has been a supporter of stricter gun control laws, said, "more guns doesn't mean less crime," and told viewers that this wasn't an anti-America protest.
CNN has cancelled Piers Morgan's prime time talk show, what led to this decision?
Piers Morgan is no stranger to bad press. Possibly, this is because he has always received his fair share of it (particularly in recent months), although throughout his seemingly eternal career he has also doled out much of it to others. Some, therefore, may cite karma as a reason behind the recent news than his CNN prime time talk show has been cancelled.
Piers Morgan's CNN talk show has been cancelled
Yet Morgan has always maintained an unwavering confidence, despite having garnered a less than favourable reputation among his critics and viewers. His reputation with his American audience deteriorated so dramatically that a petition was started to deport him from the country. The UK countered with their own petition, urging the US to reconsider as they didn’t want him either.

CNN axes the British presenter's 'Piers Morgan Live' amidst falling ratings.
Piers Morgan's CNN prime-time talkshow Piers Morgan Live will soon be axed due to unsatisfactory ratings, according to a recent announcement, via the NY Times. The British former editor of Daily Mirror will present his last show in March but reportedly he has been in discussions with CNN about a new role at the channel following the end of the show.
Piers Morgan's 'Piers Morgan Live' Will Come To An End Some Time In March.
Especially in the UK, Morgan, 48, is a controversial and divisive figure, who has been both loved and loathed during his long career in the media. He replaced veteran host Larry King on CNN three years ago and has interviewed a host of high profile guests, including Oprah Winfrey, Warren Buffet, and ex-US President Bill Clinton.

"It's been a painful period and lately we have taken a bath in the ratings," says Piers Morgan about his CNN show, which is likely to be taken off air next month.
CNN and Piers Morgan are bringing an end to their partnership after three years, which began when the 48 year-old took over from Larry King in the valuable 9 p.m. primetime slot.
But the network isn't garnering the rating figures it would have hoped, and has therefore decided to pull the plug on Morgan's show, The New York Times reports.
CNN's President Jeffrey Zucker and Morgan have had several discussions on the program being unable to connect to the American viewers and have decided to air the last show in March.

Jeremy Clarkson versus Piers Morgan. The gloves are off.
Piers Morgan and Jeremy Clarkson - probably two of Britain's most polarising television personalities - have engaged in yet another Twitter spat. Of course by polarising we mean hated and by Twitter spat we mean THE MOTHER OF ALL TWITTER SPATS.
In a recent column for the Dail Mail, Morgan described the moment Top Gear presenter Clarkson interrupted a conversation he was having with Justin Timberlake, Samuel L Jackson and Pharell Williams at the GQ Men of the Year awards. It went like this:
"Evening, Clarkson,' I chuckled.

If Lisa Kudrow & Matthew Perry had their way, 'Friends' would be making a return to our screens.
Filling in for British host Piers Morgan on Piers Morgan Live on 26th July, Friends star Matthew Perry, AKA Chandler Bing, took over hosting responsibilities, showing off his natural talent for comedy in an interview with Friends co-star, Lisa Kudrow. In Perry's opening monologue during which he assesses how he and Morgan are different, he introduces his rather familiar first interviewee: "she beautiful, she's intelligent, she's hilarious and if memory serves she owes me, errr...47 dollars[...]you may remember her as being the second funniest cast member on Friends" as Kudrow's laughter filters through from offscreen.
Kudrow: Could She & Perry Form Their Own Splinter Version Of Friends?
The pair joked and bantered like old times, having spent ten seasons on the popular sitcom which charted the lives of a group of friends living in Manhattan. The pair also revealed that, if it were up to them, the show that broadcast its final episode in 2004 wouldn't have ended as soon as it did. "If I had a time machine, I would like to go back to 2004 and not have stopped," admitted Perry who has been seen most recently on the now cancelled 2012 NBC comedy, Go On. The unofficial Friends. The One With The Reunion Image has been floating around for months on Twitter, stirring up a frenzy but it's pretty clear no sneaky efforts are being made to produce more episodes under the radar.

Chelsea Handler and Piers Morgan had a fight? That's what's being reported, but really it's just standard banter. Both Morgan and Handler have their own chat shows, Morgan was visiting Handler's show Chelsea Lately.
As US Magazine reported, both were in a playful mood, and as soon as Piers walked out on set, before he'd even sat down Chelsea asked him what he was looking at. "You've either had plastic surgery or a makeover, because you look really hot today," Morgan retorted. And the banter continued from there.
"Oh, you're so annoying. You're so obnoxious - you wonder why everybody hates you!" Chelsea exclaimed. "I specifically covered up so you couldn't look at me and undress me with your molester eyes." Their 'argument' didn't stop there. "Normally when I come on the show you're really hung over in a very unprofessional way," Morgan said, joking about Handler's penchant for alcohol.

That Handler, Morgan fight? Well, it was all in jest, of course, but even though Piers Morgan and Chelsea Handler were just trying to wind each other up they still managed to get some serious digs in at each other. Piers Morgan appeared on Handler’s show Chelsea Lately for an interview that culminated in Chelsea getting so wound up that she told Piers “you can suck my ass.”
Before both guests had even settled in their seats, the war of words had begun, with Chelsea challenging Piers, demanding “What are you looking at?" Piers responded by joking “well, you’ve either had plastic surgery or a makeover, because you look really hot today.”
Chelsea was quick to fire back, saying “Oh, you're so annoying. You're so obnoxious… you wonder why everybody hates you! I specifically covered up so you couldn't look at me and undress me with your molester eyes.” Morgan decided to have a pop at Handler’s reputation for boozing and told her “Normally when I come on the show, you're really hungover in a very unprofessional way."

In an interview with Piers Morgan, acting legend Burt Reynolds reveals his one true love and why they couldn't stay together.
Legendary 80s film star Burt Reynolds has stated that he believes Sally Field was the love of his life and thinks that the only reason they aren't still together is that he was a bad partner. The actor, known for his role in 'Boogie Nights', became a legendary ladies man due to a string of Hollywood stars. These actresses included Faye Dunaway, Loni Anderson and Kim Basinger, although he has stated that leaving Field was his biggest mistake.
As part of his appearance on 'Piers Morgan's Life Stories', Reynolds explained the relationship, saying that: "Had I been smarter, you know, with one lady... I still would be together with her. Sally. Without a doubt. I asked her (to marry me) at the wrong time. She asked me at the wrong time. I missed out on that one, that's for sure. I think we would have been very happy, yes. I'd like to think so. I'm not sure she'd say so. She's just a very special woman. I really handled that one pretty bad."

“Kelsey Grammer was supposed to be on my show, but he ran out of the building. Strange,” tweeted the talk show host on Wednesday. The news seems to have offended Morgan, who himself cuts a ‘love or hate’ figure in the U.K. “So, Kelsey Grammer saw a photo of his ex-wife Camille in the open of our show and legged it. Extraordinary. Never had this happen before … I like Kelsey Grammer personally, but this was a shockingly unprofessional thing to do. I wasn’t even going to mention his ex-wife.” Grammer's publicist told The Hollywood Reporter: "Piers needs to take responsibility for what he did to Kelsey. It's called accountability." Seemingly embarrassed, and unable to let it go, Morgan continued to tweet about the Frasier star, saying "Relax Jimmy, unlike my guest Mr Grammer last night, I won't run away." He was referring to his upcoming appearance on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon.
The ex-wife Morgan was joking about may have had something to do with Grammer’s untimely exit (or timely, depending on who you ally with) although nothing has been officially released regarding what was said backstage. Grammer, 57, and Camille divorced last year before he married British flight attendant Kayte Walsh, who is 25 years younger than him.
Britain's Got Talent judge Amanda Holden has spoken publicly about the sacking of her former colleague Kelly Brook from the ITV1 show.
The model and actress was cut from the talent show judging panel after only six days in the job last month.
At the time head judge Simon Cowell said it had become clear that the talent show's format did not "support another judge".
And Holden has said Cowell's statement last month was "absolutely right".
"It was one of those unfortunate things where nobody could foresee that it was game over when there were four judges," she told Radio 1's Newsbeat programme.
"Because of the buzzer situation, four judges on our show doesn't work," she continued. "If we didn't have the buzzers then it would definitely work like it does on American Idol and on X Factor.
"It was a really difficult thing to try and work out, when two people pressed the buzzer and two people didn't, then the person on stage didn't know whether to wait for all the buzzers to go.
"Ant and Dec were confused, we were all confused. In the end, the producers and everybody felt that it was jeopardising the show."
Former Wild at Heart actress Holden added: "It was nothing to do with Kelly Brook. She was thrown completely in at the deep end."
The third series of Britain's Got Talent begins in the spring, with a new batch of aspiring performers aiming to follow in the footsteps of previous champions Paul Potts and George Sampson.
Holden explained she and her fellow judges Cowell and Piers Morgan completed filming on the audition process of the show last Saturday.
"We've picked the last 40 acts for the live shows in May. Let's say we should rename the show Britain's Got Self Belief!" she joked.
As well as claiming a £100,000 prize, the winner gets a chance to perform in front of the Queen at the Royal Variety Performance.
