Pink Floyd rocker David Gilmour's son has been jailed for 16 months for rampaging across London during the city's student riots in December (10).
Charlie Gilmour admitted violent disorder after he was arrested for his involvement in demonstrations in London's Trafalgar Square and Parliament Square over a huge hike in university tuition fees. He was caught on camera swinging from a flag on the Cenotaph war memorial and urging fellow protesters to "storm Parliament".
He was also accused of throwing a trash can and sitting on a car in a convoy carrying Charles, Prince of Wales and his wife, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, during the protest.
On Friday (15Jul11), a judge at Kingston Crown Court in south west London found Gilmour guilty of hurling the missile and handed the Cambridge University student a 16-month stint behind bars.
