Pink Floyd rocker David Gilmour's wife has been sent hate mail following the imprisonment of their son last month (Jul11).
Charlie Gilmour was sentenced to 16 months in jail after he was caught on camera rampaging across London with fellow students last December (10) in protests against a huge hike in U.K. university tuition fees.
The 21 year old, who was seen swinging from a flag pole on the Cenotaph war memorial and urging fellow protesters to "storm Parliament", admitted to a charge of violent disorder and was ordered to serve time.
The youngster's mother Polly Samson reveals she has since been bombarded with cruel letters at her home address since Charlie was sentenced on 15 July (11).
In a series of posts on her Twitter.com page, she writes, "Receiving hate mail is such a bad start to the day. Apparently for accompanying my son to court instead of having him aborted 21 years ago.
"Online (criticism) somehow is expected. It's when they go to the trouble of tracking down (my) address. At least no excrement in this one."
David Gilmour adopted Charlie when he married Samson in 1994.
