Following Kanye West's Rant, Pink Turns The Other Cheek: "Peace Please"

Kanye West Pink Taylor Swift

Whenever there’s a slow news day, unearthing a little old drama usually does the trick… such was not the case with Kanye West’s rant on Taylor Swift, Pink and racism. To cut the long story short, Gawker obtained vintage audio of West after the 2009 VMAs ranting about Taylor Swift’s Award, Pink’s performance and his own snub at the VMA’s due to what he saw as prejudice on the part of MTV – although that’s not exactly how Kanye put it.

Kanye West, Beverly Hills
This is nothing new for Kanye.

“It ain't no love. What the fuck was Pink performing?” Kanye rants in the gritty audio. “Don't nobody know that song. Pink performed twice! Two songs? How the fuck Pink perform two songs and I didn't even get asked to perform "Heartless." "Heartless" is the biggest song of the year! It had the most spins of the first quarter! I don't know that Pink song! But I noticed that she's pink!”

Dzhokhar Tsarnaev's 'Rolling Stone' Cover Prompts Unseen Photographs

Pink Rolling Stones Dropkick Murphys

Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, the suspected Boston Marathon bomber, features on the latest cover of Rolling Stone magazine. The decision has been heavily criticised, with many commentators suggesting it depicts Tsarnev has a rock 'n roll outlaw, rather than a terrorist suspected of killing four people and seriously wounding hundreds of others.

Now, Sgt Sean Murphy, a tactical photographer who worked with the Massachusetts State Police on the manhunt for Tsarnaev has released previously unseen photographs of the mission to convey his fury at the music magazine.

Justin Timberlake Bruno Mars Katy Perry Elton John Keith Urban Queen Brian May Adam Lambert Ryan Seacrest Muse Tiesto Chris Brown Fun Phoenix Maroon 5 Tim Mcgraw 30 Seconds to Mars Benny Benassi No Doubt Pink Usher Swedish House Mafia Billie Joe Armstrong Green Day Miley Cyrus Avril Lavigne Pete Tong Twenty One Pilots

Justin Timberlake, Bruno Mars and Katy Perry are among the names confirmed for the iHeartRadio Music Festival at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas in September. The two-day festival, set to be held on September 20 and 21, will also feature performances from Elton John, Keith Urban and a special pairing of Queen (with Brian May) and the former American Idol star Adam Lambert.

The main festival line-up was announced on Monday morning (July 15, 2013) in a press conference hosted by Ryan Seacrest. A final schedule will be announced closer to the festival, though Timberlake, Perry, Elton and Bruno Mars are likely to be the marquee names. The likes of Muse, Tiesto, Chris Brown, Fun, Phoenix, Maroon 5, Tim Mcgraw, Ke&ha, Thirty Seconds to Mars and Benny Benassi are other high profile names to have been confirmed.

Last year's festivals played host to No Doubt, Pink, Usher and Swedish House Mafia though it will be remembered for Billie Joe Armstrong's meltdown during Green Day's set. After smashing the band's instruments in protest of his set being cut short, Armstrong left the stage and was admitted to rehab the next day, cancelling his band's tour dates and promotional appearances.

Pink Pulls Out Of Second Birmingham Show Citing Illness [Pictures]

Pink

It’s always the provincial shows that seem to bear the brunt of a performer’s illness. The pop star Pink has been forced to pull out of a date in Birmingham, but – surprise, surprise – has assured fans that she’ll be fit and ready to go again when she gets down to London’s O2 Arena tomorrow night (April 24, 2013).

Pink

“With deepest regrets I had to cancel my first show of the tour tonight in Birmingham,” she wrote on her Twitter, going on to explain “I have an ear and respiratory infection. I am not a person that takes cancellations lightly and I apologize to anyone who was inconvenienced by my illness. Thanks to all my genuine people out there sending love.” A statement was also published on the 33 year-old singer’s website, which read: “It is with great regret that P!nk has been forced to postpone her concert tonight at Birmingham's LG Arena. After seeking medical advice this afternoon she has been advised that she cannot perform tonight. The promoters have asked ticket holders for tonight's show to retain their tickets. Further announcements regarding a replacement date will follow. All other UK dates on The Truth About Love Tour will not be affected.”

I Hate Myself For Loving You: Faith Hill Leaves Sunday Night Football

Faith Hill NBC Pink

Faith Hill will no longer feature on the opening theme for NBC's primetime Sunday Night Football show after announcing she is leaving after six years. Hill has sung the opening theme for the show - a reworked version of Joan Jett's I Hate Myself For Loving You - since 2007, when she replaced Pink.

However, Hill has opted to stand down from her role and the hunt for her replacement is underway. "Faith Hill is family to all of us at Sunday Night Football. For the last six seasons and two Super Bowls, her opening performance of 'Waiting All Day' set the tone for SNF and became a television staple," Sunday Night Football producer Fred Gaudelli said in a statement to the Hollwood Reporter, "We will always be grateful for her performances and friendship. We wish Faith nothing but continued success."

Hill announced the news on Twitter early on Monday, tweeting, "Amazing 2 have been part of SNF -- an honor. I've just let everyone there know it's time 2 let someone else rock the open," adding that it was a "difficult decision, kinda emotional."

Taylor Swift Vs One Direction: Battle Of The Exes Commences At Kids Choice Awards

Taylor Swift One Direction Harry Styles Adele Pink Maroon 5

This is why they tell you not to date anyone at the office. You have a whirlwind romance, it's all lovey-dovey for about four weeks and then you break up. And suddenly work is a very difficult place to be and everyone else around you feels uncomfortable. It's even more of a challenge when it comes to celebs because being famous is all part of the job and being nominated for awards, while being a privilege, can sometimes bring two foes into one room. That's precisely the case for Taylor Swift and Harry Styles (One Direction) who are both nominated for favorite song at the Kids Choice Awards. Uh-oh!

Swift and Styles dated for a couple of months in what seemed a really intense relationship. They managed to get away on three holidays before breaking up on the third. It would have been a little awkward for them even to be in the same room as one another, but competing for the same award - Yikes! Professionals that they are, we're sure they'll be able to handle it.

For favorite song, Swift's "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" is nominated, as is "What Makes You Beautiful". They're both also up for other awards: Swift is up for favorite female artist against stiff competition in the form of Adele, Katy Perry and P!nk. While 1D is also up for favorite group, against Big Time Rush, Bon Jovi and Maroon 5. For Kids Choice Awards, we have a feeling the 5-piece boy band will run away with that one.

Pink - Greatest Hits.So Far!!! Album Review

Following the success of Pink's 6th album 'The Truth About Love', it's no surprise that her greatest hits collection has been re-released. While it doesn't feature any material recorded after 2010, it's a surprisingly comprehensive overview of Alecia Moore throughout her twenties. At this point I should reveal that I don't own any Pink records, neither am I likely to, but it's for that reason that 'Greatest Hits.So Far!!!' seems to work so well. In many ways, it resembles Madonna's 'Immaculate Collection'; while you may not realise it beforehand, you'll know many more of her songs than you thought. To be honest, that familiarity is why this collection feels justified rather than existing as a cynical cash in on her chart success.

Pink - Greatest Hits.So Far!!! Album Review

It's not perfect and, while useful for the uninitiated, the roughly chronological track listing could be mixed up a little to make the album feel more cohesive. But despite minor gripes, 'Greatest Hits.So Far!!!' does exactly what it sets out to. It paints Pink as a multi skilled artist, who's straddled the pop charts without sacrificing artistic credibility. There are very few other current artists that sound as comfortable singing a political protest song ('Dear Mr President') as they do a party song ('Raise Your Glass'). Along the way she's more than happy to poke fun at her contemporaries ('Stupid Girls') and deal with divorce ('So What'). In most cases, it's her punky and sassy attitude that makes her songs endearing. It's refreshing to hear someone who isn't afraid to write about her own life with a certain amount of venom. But, as this collection shows, that hasn't always been the case.

The first three tracks demonstrate the very standard R 'n' B and pop format that Pink was initially known for. 'Get The Party Started' has a certain amount of charm, but it hasn't dated that well. Neither has the Destiny's Child-lite vibe of 'There You Go'. It's only when 'Don't Let Me Get Me' starts that you realise that Pink has really found her feet and begins to hit her stride. Thankfully, the team up single for the movie Moulin Rouge ('Lady Marmalade') is missing here, although that song did firmly push Pink into the spotlight, allowing her to take a little more artistic control of her career.

Pink Loses 55 Pounds On Vegan Diet, Power Yoga, Kickboxing

Pink Jillian Michaels

Pink loses 55 pounds? Did she really need to? Anyway, she has, and the pop superstar is telling everyone exactly how she did it. The 33-year-old wanted to shift the baby weight following the birth of her baby daughter earlier this year.

Pink, who covers this month's Shape magazine, explained, "I ate a lot of cheesecake during those nine months..Also anything sour, Sour Skittles, Sour Patch Kids, Key Lime Pie." So how did she lose 55 pounds in next to no time? Well, she began working out with celebrity trainers Jillian Michaels and Jeanette Jenkins of course! The 'One Last Kiss' hit-maker did cardio exercises every day, along with power yoga, kickboxing and strength training. She also opted for a mostly vegan diet. Sounds horrific. Pink and her motocross racer husband Carey Hart welcomed their first child, daughter Willow, on June 2, 2011.

As for more children, Pink told OTRC.com at the Happy Feet 2 premiere last year that she wants "a basketball team," adding, "I'll take other people's children at this point."

Video - Pink Attempts To Shield Willow From Paparazzi As She Leaves Jon Stewart's Studio

Pink leaves the New York studio where she appeared on 'The Daily Show with Jon Stewart' holding her 15-month-old daughter Willow in such a way that she looks as though she's shielding her from the horde of paparazzi. She rushes straight to her car without posing for photos which seems to annoy one photographer who complains about having had to wait three hours. Pink did, however, enjoy her time on the show and later Tweeted: 'I am such a huge fan of Jon Stewart and everyone at that show- especially after meeting them. They are all a bunch of awesome peoples.' She has also previously used her Twitter account to express her views on the paparazzi snapping celebrity children which would explain the way she's holding Willow so protectively. Last month she posted: 'See the thing about me is,there's never gonna be anyone that tells me what I can and can't say.Paparazzi stalking children should be illegal' following a previous post which included a link to an article in the Huffington Post discussing the matter.

X Factor Auditions Continue Without Simon Cowell

Simon Cowell Louis Walsh Demi Lovato La Reid Britney Spears Christina Aguilera Pink

The auditions continued for last night’s episode of X Factor USA (September 19, 2012), without Simon Cowell. The music mogul was reportedly under the weather, according to CBS News but he was kind enough to ensure that he sent a replacement, in the form of Louis Walsh. Walsh already helps to judge the UK version of the show was well-versed in what to expect and what the show’s producers were looking for.

Last night’s show was based in Kansas City and the first contestant shown was 18 year old rapper Rizzloe Jones, who surprised the judges with his vocal skills, despite not quite looking the part. He was even challenged to a freestyle and was asked to rap on the topic of “marshmallows” by Demi Lovato, whilst La Reid insisted on “X Factor.” Such was Rizzloe’s confidence, he took on both subjects with ease. Britney Spears even went so far as to compare him to a “young Vanilla Ice,” though we’re not 100% sure if that was a compliment or not. They were equally wowed by 20 year-old CeCe Frey, whose initial rendition of ‘Unchained Melody’ was unremarkable but when she was given a second chance, her version of Christina Aguilera’s ‘Ain’t No Other Man’ practically had Britney Spears scraping her own jaw off the floor in shock at how good it was.

For the latter part of the show, Cowell had evidently recovered from his illness and returned to the judging panel, where he was won over by Jessica Espinoza’s audition. She sang a version of ‘Nobody Knows’ by Pink, which impressed Cowell so much that the usually dour Cowell told her “I didn’t like it. I loved it.”

New Album Proves That Artist Is Still Pink From The Block

Pink Jennifer Lopez

Much like when Jennifer Lopez tried to convince us all that she remained just “Jenny from the block”, Pink is insisting that despite the wealth and fame brought on by five albums that have gone at least platinum in the USA, she’s still just a regular person who gets angry at the same things that the common man does.

"I'm very much in the trenches, and I don't live in the lap of luxury. I come from a working-class military family. We watch the news and read the paper and vote, so there's always something to be upset about. I always have a certain amount of angst in my back pocket” said Pink to USA Today. Only one of the pop star’s five albums has failed to top one million sales in America, with 2001’s Missundaztood still her biggest selling at 5.4 million Stateside. Pink’s new album The Truth About Love isn’t what you’d expect from a star now happily married and recent mother to her first child.

Talking about her daughter Willow, Pink said "If she rebels, she'll listen to opera and hate tattoos. If she has talent, I'd be cool with it. This world is way too cruel if you're not talented. That's why I didn't get lost in the sauce.” Continuing, she added "And it's harder if you have a vagina. An ambitious man is admirable and respected. An ambitious woman is difficult and emotional. There's a boys' club, even in music. You have to think before you talk. I can be loud, but I've learned you can have quiet power."

Catacombs Review

Bad
Here's what happens in Catacombs. Shannyn Sossamon plays Victoria, who arrives in Paris to hook up with her bratty sister Carolyn (marking inauspiciously Pink's speaking-role acting debut). After setting her down with some friends who tell her all about a kid who lives in the Paris catacombs, raised on raw meat and wearing a goat head for mask, Carolyn drags Victoria to a rave held in one of those catacombs, just like in The Matrix Reloaded only with nude, underground lake swimming.

Naturally, Victoria gets separated and spends the next hour-plus running around in the catacombs in her boots (has Sossamon ever appeared in a movie in heels? just wondering), being chased by, you guessed it, a dude in a goat-head mask. He doesn't stop, no matter how injured Victoria gets or how many people she encounters get killed... until the end, when one of cinema's most absurd twist endings of all time gets sprung on you.

Kenneth Williams' famous quip "Infamy! Infamy! They've all got in for me!" has been named as the funniest line in movie history.

He uttered the words as Julius Caesar in the 1964 film Carry On Cleo.

Coming second in the poll for Sky Movies Comedy, which quizzed 1,000 film fans and critics, is the line "He's not the Messiah, he's a very naughty boy" from the Monty Python film The Life of Brian.

And apparently the third funniest words uttered in a film are the exchange between Robert Hays (Ted Striker) and Leslie Nielsen (Dr Rumack) in the 1980 hit Airplane! After Hays said "Surely you can't be serious" Nielsen quipped back "I am seriousand don't call me Shirley".

Other films with one-liners making it into the poll's top ten are lines from the slapstick comedy films Dumb and Dumber, There's Something About Mary and The Naked Gun.

Top ten comedy lines

1) "Infamy! Infamy! They've all got it in for me!" Kenneth Williams as Julius Caesar Carry on Cleo (1964)

2) "He's not the Messiah, he's a very naughty boy." Terry Jones as Brian's mother - Life Of Brian (1979)

3) "I am serious, and don't call me Shirley." Leslie Nielsen as Dr Rumack - Airplane! (1980)

4) "Remember you're fighting for this woman's honour, which is probably more than she ever did." Groucho Marx as Rufus T Firefly - Duck Soup (1933)

5) "Don't knock masturbation. It's sex with someone I love." Woody Allen as Alvy Singer - Annie Hall (1977)

6) "Do you have a licence for your minkey?" Peter Sellers as Inspector Clouseau - The Return of the Pink Panther (1975)

7) "Is that, is that hair gel?" Cameron Diaz as Mary Jensen - There's Something About Mary (1998)

8) "Gentlemen, you can't fight in here. This is the War Room." Peter Sellers as President Merkin Muffley - Dr Strangelove (1963)

9) "Nice beaver! Thank you. I just had it stuffed." Leslie Nielsen as Lt Frank Drebin and Priscilla Presley as Jane Spencer - The Naked Gun (1988)

10) "When I met Mary I got that old-fashioned romantic feeling where I'd do anything to bone her." Jim Carrey as Lloyd Christmas - Dumb and Dumber (1994)
