Pippa Middleton recently sat down with the 'Today' show's Matt Lauer for her first ever televised interview.

The discussion covered a range of topics from her big sister, Kate, becoming a British royal after marrying Prince William, and her infamous bridesmaid dress, which garnered nearly as much attention as the whole ceremony.

The English socialite also spoke candidly of how her own life has changed since the royal wedding, and the difficulties of being in the public eye.

But when Kate did marry William on April 29th 2011, Pippa initially "saw it as just a family wedding."

"And actually, I didn't realize, perhaps, the scale of it until afterwards . We all took on the roles as any family would," she said.

"Even sort of walking through the Abbey, there were a lot of people," the brunette beauty recalled. "I didn't see any TV cameras, so to me, it was just performing in front of a few people, not necessarily the whole world."

But afterwards it was very obvious that there were a lot of eyes on her, especially her backside in the Alexander McQueen gown she wore to walk behind her sister.

"It was completely unexpected," she said of the attention. "You know, I think the plan was not really for it to be a significant dress, really just to sort of blend in with the train." Although, Pippa did admit, "I suppose it's flattering," but also said it was "embarrassing" because "it wasn't planned."

The 30 year-old also opened up about the negative aspects of fame and how her privacy is always trying to be invaded.

"It's hard sometimes, but I have felt publicly bullied a little bit just by, you know, when I read things that clearly aren't true or that, whichever way someone looks at it, it's a negative side," she said. "It is quite difficult. Because eventually I'm just paving my way and trying to live a life like any 30-year-old."

Adding, "I think people feel they can say something about you online or on a Web page, when they would never say it to your face. They think that's okay." The second part of the candid interview airs on 'Today' on Tuesday (July 1st).
