Some 40,000 bootleg DVDs and the equipment used to produce them were confiscated during raids in New York Thursday, according to the Motion Picture Association of America and the Recording Industry Association of America, which worked with local Police in investigating the source of the pirated movies, many of which that have not been officially released, including Snakes on a Plane and World Trade Center. Police also arrested 19-year-old Abdouraitamance Diallo on trademark infringement charges. News reports said that the discs were being peddled at flea markets.
