Tidal are celebrating what would have been Prince’s 58th birthday today by adding 15 more of his albums their catalogue. Prince had been a vocal supporter of Jay Z’s Tidal and he released his final two albums, Hitnrun Phase One and Hitnrun Phase Two exclusively on the streaming service last year.

PrinceTidal have just released 15 Prince albums.

The 15 new albums include his follow up to Sign O' The Times, the Black Album which Prince scrapped a week before its release in 1987. There’s also 1995’s The Gold Experience, 1999: The New Master, The Rainbow Children from 2001 and a collection of live albums.

In 2015 Prince voiced his support for Tidal, before the release of HitnRun Phase One. "After one meeting, it was obvious that Jay Z and the team he has assembled at Tidal recognise and applaud the effort that real musicians put in2 their craft 2 achieve the very best they can at this pivotal time in the music industry,” he said in a statement.

"Tidal have honoured Us with a non-restrictive arrangement that once again allows Us to continue making art in the fashion We've grown accustomed 2 and We're Extremely grateful 4 their generous support.”

In Prince’s home state of Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton officially declared June 7th, ‘Prince Day’. to celebrate his contributions to music and the state itself. ‘Prince was the creator of The Minneapolis Sound, a contribution not only to the global catalogue of music genres, but to Minnesota's worldwide prominence and its economic growth,’ Dayton said in his declaration.
