The vocalist broke away from the Firestarter hitmakers in the early 2000s over his rocky relationship with bandmate Liam Howlett, and he recorded his first solo project, titled Device #1, in 2003.

He eventually ditched the record because the music was so terrible, and now he admits he is delighted he stayed with The Prodigy as it would have been impossible to hold down two roles.

Flint tells Q magazine, "It was s**t, I don't mind saying that, but I'm not ashamed of it. The Prodigy demands so much of every cell of your body that when it doesn't exist there's nothing left of you. It's hugely demoralising and you think, 'F**k me, there's more to me than this.' Now I'm so happy it never took off."
