Queen Latifah Has Signed Up To Star In An Upcoming Biopic Based On The Life Of Rapper Master P.
The singer/actress is to portray the hip-hop star's mother in King Of The South, a film which details his journey from a life of poverty to becoming a successful music mogul.
A representative for Latifah's Flavor Unit entertainment company says in a statement, "This is a great role for Queen Latifah. Master P has an amazing story and has broke a lot of barriers in hip-hop, paving the way for artists to make real money and run their own businesses in the music industry.
"We have so much respect for what he's done in the game, we want to help make sure that his story is told authentically with A-list talent."
Master P, real name Percy Miller, co-wrote the film. A release date for King Of The South has yet to be announced.
