Rachel Sermanni's debut single, The Fog, is the lead track from her debut EP, Black Currents, which will be released on January 30th 2012. To coincide with the release of the EP, Rachel will be performing at London's Union Chapel on the 23rd January 2012.
The video for The Fog was shot in black and white and sees Rachel in a picturesque wood. In places she is seen sitting by a pond, looking at her grubby hands; in others, she is seen walking briskly through the forest and sitting at the foot of a tree. At the end of the video, there is a somewhat unexpected twist to the tale.
Rachel Sermanni is only nineteen but is already causing a stir in the music industry. She grew up in the small town of Carrbridge, located in the heart of the Scottish highlands. She has already performed with some big names; she has recently finished a tour with Mumford & Sons and has supported BBC's Sound of 2012 winner Michael Kiwanuka, Ron Sexsmith and Elvis Costello.
Her EP, Black Currents, was produced with the help of Ian Grimble, who is known for the organisation Communion. It features four tracks which showcase her beautiful voice to perfection.
